^ I agree. It's crazy the Thor has been reduced to an anti-air unit. It looks nothing like it! Blizzard said the reason why they changed the Thor was because it overlapped the ground utility of the Siege Tank. Who cares!? Just consider it an extra tier higher in ground firepower! The Thor is too awesome to limit it as an anti-air utility. You can't have cannons like that and not expect it to blow up some zerglings too.
I have seen the Desler. I have tasted of his milk and honey.

Yeah, the Thor was mostly a cannon fodder unit with a special Barrage ability. Siege Tanks are relatively fragile, so an unit with lots of HP could have been really nice on the battlefield.

A few portrait renders. Very detailed for tiny little portraits. Anyone remember how they put the portraits up really big in the Protoss demo? Do they still have that feature? I don't see why they'd remove it, I just haven't seen it used since then.

I'd assume that the big portrait thing is the new transmission system, and the only reason we haven't seen it is because most of the gameplay we've seen since then has been in melee-mode and not in campaign-mode.

I'm pretty sure of this as well.Thalraxal wrote: I'd assume that the big portrait thing is the new transmission system, and the only reason we haven't seen it is because most of the gameplay we've seen since then has been in melee-mode and not in campaign-mode.

They're detailed, and yet the Vulture-esque guy's fingers show blocky polygons. So, these obviously are not cinematic models, but more probably the in-game cutscene models.

I just wish the unit models looked like that.

Agreed. Mutas have never looked sexier. ;p
And seeing the Thor portrait makes me wish all the more that they didn't make it an overglorified Goliath.

Re: StarCraft II Official! (Pictures)
Anyone else notice SC2 has 15 button slots? It seems every RTS game Blizzard makes now adds another column of buttons. =oP I wonder if any unit actually uses all 15 slots, such as maybe the Larva. Will we just have one build menu now, instead of Basic and Advanced?
One thing I've always wanted to see is the Siege Tank's mobile mode offering some kind of interesting role. It is never considered viable unless in Siege Mode.

I want to upgrade a siege tank to an AA tank, The primary gun in siege mode is used to target low orbit objects such as shuttles!Hercanic wrote: Anyone else notice SC2 has 15 button slots? Or... it should just do that on it's own.
