I play hardcore too, the reason I don't play normal is because of the runewords though, they're overpowered compared to the best of unique items.

Again, explain to me what part of them being overpowered is an issue and why, if you acquired these runewords, you wouldn't use them. It's simple. Certain runes are rare and they make powerful items. The effort to acquire them in standard real gameplay would be immense. Yes, the issue of acquiring them via bots does come up- But every once in a while those efforts are removed.

Wait, so there is another mode you can choose when playing D2? Then why is everyone saying they ruined the game if you can just choose not to play without em?

You can get runewords in Hardcore, but it's a lot harder because in the mode Hardcore, your character is lost if it dies once, so its a lot harder to MF or bot HC.

I didn't exactly get that either. Both have runes. PvP is pointless in normal. You die, lose gold and XP, revive, repeat. In Hardcore- You can fear runes since.. If you die you die. But as mentioned, people work to get them. (Or bot them, or buy them, but someone took the effort to get them.)

I just think that there would be less assholes on Diablo 2 if they didn't think they were gods for buying their stuff off ebay or botting all night for it, it just turned the game into crap really, unless you play HC.

I like eBay, its a chance to even out the playing field between basement dwellers and those of us who like cheating to get where we are.

Says the guy with over 9,000 on his eBay score.

eBay is cool, but buying stuff for games just ruins the greatness of finding that thing you've been searching every nook and cranny for.

Should probably change the title of this thread to Diablo III updates or something.
Anyways, Blizzard is seeking a new Diablo III Art Director, mysteriously shortly after they responded to criticism to their art direction via an online petition to change the look of Diablo III (the one I posted earlier in this topic).
http://www.actiontrip.com/rei/comments_ ... d=080708_7
They claim its unrelated, but eh, who knows. They may just not want to admit it openly. I'm glad if they don't give into every widespread fan complaint as they do with SC2. I trust them though to have the right balance between being aware of fan criticism vs giving into every demand of the Blizzard fan mob.

It's unrelated, a blizz artist just responded to people complaining about the art style and called them faggots.

Yeah, I mean.. The artstyle's not Diablo 1 or 2, but that's only from what we've seen.

They said other stuff will be similiar or better than Diablo 1 and 2 (not what we've seen) just certain things will not be due to the fact that people complained about having to increase gamma to see things in the old Diablos.

I think it's fine how it is, you can see everything decent and it allows you to view more things clearly. I wonder how the map respawn is going to look because from the gameplay video it looked like it was a specific path, then again Blizz probably had it mapped out.

That's the purpose of the "map respawn" (so you call it)... To always have a specific path.
