I guess, but theres a whole bunch of very interesting shots in the artwork trailer, even a supposed hybrid. most people miss them because a segment of the video is speeded up on purpose i guess. though a multimedia guy like me has tools at his disposal:
first one is OMG HYBRIDZ!
next one just looks awesome.

I really doubt they're keeping reavers. Things have been in concept art before that never got in.

Seconded. Remember the ill-fated Aqueous Rift mod?Taeradun wrote: I also strongly hope for naval units functionality included in the engine (obviously makes no sense for standard SC, but I hope Blizzard still include art for at least 1 naval building, 1 warship and 1 transport ship for each race like they did for Warcraft III, bless 'em)

They -supposedly- got it to work. No one outside of the staff could tell you if that were true or not. It amazes me how entire teams just disappear and no one is left carrying the torch after so much work is put into a project.

I always thought they just changed the tilesets around or something, since I beleive most of the terrain stuff is hardcoded.Desler wrote: They -supposedly- got it to work. Re: StarCraft II Official! (Pictures)
This is why I just quit WC3 modding. I usually just terrained maps, I made so much stuff that never got used. Maps that I put my heart and soul into, my best stuff ended up sitting in a rar file on my backup drive, because the campaign i made it for never used it. Mesk can tell you, I've been giving him some terrain from past projects because it is guaranteed they will never be used. At least this way, theres a chance.Desler wrote: It amazes me how entire teams just disappear and no one is left carrying the torch after so much work is put into a project.
Back to SC2, no one has commented on the Hybrid, or the mysterious guard there.

Re: StarCraft II Official! (Pictures)
Obviously it's a Protoss hybrid zerg hatchery utilizing Protoss technology to incubate the eggs. Bare in mind, this isn't Kerrigan or the Swarm's doing; it's Duran. The guard could be a sloppy drawing of a Protoss or a different non-playable race all-together. Who knows what kind of power Duran works for. We know it's none of the three factions because he double-crossed them all.
I have seen the Desler. I have tasted of his milk and honey.

Ooh, I see what Lavarinth means. Yeah, that is a Dragoon and since Dragoons are officially replaced that doesn't guarantee the Reavers will be in there, either.

Re: StarCraft II Official! (Pictures)
Maybe. I think there's another hole if the Phoenix's Overcharge doesn't work on ground units (they called it an air-superiority fighter, and Overcharge wasn't shown used near any ground units). Warp Rays suck against swarms of weak ground units, and Phoenix aren't likely to be very efficient against them without Overcharge. It doesn't seem logical to force the player to build the extremely expensive Mothership to deal with tons of inexpensive units.Doctor Doack wrote: I'm really interested to see what they're going to do with the carrier. The mothership presents an interesting hole in a PvP air battle - no way can the warp ray or phoenix deal with it. Carriers will be tougher than in sc1, I reckon.
Maybe a Carrier that could send its Interceptors on bombing raids!

I don't see how that is a hole, since air was never the main focus of SC.
