thats a rather tactless thing, and suffice to say, intrudes a person's privacy if his/her residance is revealed to public by the net [route, number, etc], so, yup, i'd say google went too far.

one could argue that it's already "publicly available information" in that anyone who knows the address is free to drive down Lavarinth's street and look at his house from the road provided they are able to get to his city; just as anyone who knows the address is free to look at those pictures on the interbotz

Usually people concerned with privacy are concerned for the wrong reasons, and have an exaggerated sense of how important they are.
