Wow, just wow. I think meta was drunk when he made map 5. Its completely unbeatable, even with power overwhelming on. Seriously, how are 8 vultures supposed to take on over 9000 enemy units? What on earth was he thinking....? Its utterly retarded and I'm gonna skip it. Onwards to map 6!
Year after year people still bug me about this map!
Just split your Vultures in 2 groups of 4, send them to the teleporters, lay all mines and come back to reload.
Map 6 is pretty hard as well, it's a big boss battle so I think you'll like it.
Did you have trouble getting past map 4?
map 4? well I did have to use power overwhelming two times. Basically I had to use it to get that last cave shut, I was severely low on resources and I had no other option but to cheat.second time I used it on defeating mathradites the first time, I was loosing units fast and being overwhelmed so I overwheling'd until there was only one portal left. This doesn't mean that the map was bad, on average I always overwhelm my power at least once on any UMS map. map 4 was great
BTW, I'm going to try map 5 again, OH SHI-...
edit: made it to the near end of 5.... damn, that ending was smashing! awesome! Meta, you've got to isolate that micro wars II thing into a UMS map by itself. I demand it!

Oh great, just....great. I'm stuck on map 7 now. I destroyed 2 cerebrates and have gotten 6 probes
OK, what the hell is the purpose of the probes to begin with? Second, how to I get to the transmitter tower? Its pretty obvious that I have to either be transported there or be teleported there. the only thing I haven't been able to activate is the teleporter right next to the morphing cocoon and I can't discern any method of doing so either. help!

There's a rescuable Nydus Canal north of Grakaa's morph place (3 or 4 screens to the north). Rescue it and you'll be teleported to an island with 6 Protoss crystal powerups near 3 types of shrine doodads.
Hehe, Taer kept making fun of this map since there's a tower right next to your start location (in the beginning of the map) and one very, very far.
GUESS WHICH ONE IS YOUR DESTINATION.

You didn't think I'd be caught so easily did you, Executor? You have only destroyed a phantom.

Yeah, that Aldaris mission was obvious too, there were 3 of him and of course he had to be one close to a heavily defended Protoss base in the other side of the map.
Speaking of it, that mission was kind of frustrating since Aldaris had the Tassadar portrait.

Interesting would be he'd bee the least defended base and people would just make assumptions.

or they could've just made it that he was the third one you killed rather than in a certain location on the map for extra lolz

You're nearing the climax of the campaign now. Maps 11b and 11c are probably my best maps gameplay-wise.

Right. The final battle of Flame Knives is perhaps the best triggered battle with which I was able to play.

I just got a new lappy. wil be taking a short break from SC to enjoy gmod which now operates at a good framerate compared to its former framerate of 10fps.

I'm stuck on map 3, trying to destroy the comm relay. I turned on power overwhelming to look for triggers that help me, didn't find any. Temples don't seem to be doing anything, the beacon doesn't seem to be doing anything, killing vessels didn't help much and the bad guys keep spawning at a rapid pace. Am I just supposed to micro away 5000 hp on the comm relay with barely any time in between vessels dying and new ones spawning?

Yeah, with some micro it's actually easy.
Be sure to have your Ghosts and Hayes focus on the Vessels, Maradun standing on the frontline ready to kill the enemy waves and use some Hallucinations to draw enemy fire.

I'm at a loss then. Energy and hp decline rapidly before managing to do any real damage to the comm relay, if I focus too much on vessels my army suffers and if I only focus on the enemy army I'm only just breaking even with their spawning rate. What am I doing wrong? I don't see how micro helps me when the enemies keep pouring out, I just don't have enough firepower.

Hmmm do you still have your marines, medic and ghosts? It's pretty easy - just put the heroes at the front, stim everyone and use hallucination to gain extra protection.
