Isn't CoolEdit now called Audition, and owned by Adobe?

Audacity is the current "standard" for beginners nowadays, at least, its what I suggest to everyone (legally free, easy to use)

I don't think.. hmm I have a CD with old SC stuff on it, I'll see if I can find it tomorrow when I get off from work. Might have homeworld in there somewhere, but doubt it.

Live in Apeldoorn myself.

@Warbringer: Cooledit is now Audition yes, but it also improved on Cooledit a lot since they bought em out. Audacity, still aint used it myself so can't say anything bout it.

LEGION

HAVE MY BABIES

HAVE THEM ALLLLLLLLLLL

Also, I have three of your samples from way back.  I remember them because I listen to them every night by candlelight while eating bonbons.  There's one of an evil dude saying "Master, should we follow them?' and one of a ghost saying "I guess I'll have to wait then" and one of an evil dude saying "The Protoss is correct.  I have been here for quite some time."  Do you want any of those?

Audacity is terrible. Avoid it like the black plague. I've had it eating over 1gig of pagefile because it doesn't flush the toilet, they completely deviated from the standard sound editing interface and it quickly becomes infuriating, so on so forth.

Buying and installing Microshaft windows seriously blows!.

How about installing WINE for Darwin (Darwine) instead?

I'v heard many good things about it.

Please point me to this standard, is it a ISO standard? :P They can do with their interface what they like and if they think they can get money from it by making it different then other sound tools out there, more power to them. I won't be using it though. :)

By standard I mean how you handle the controls of a file opened in the editor. It's all strange and you end up selecting the wrong parts of the wav file you want to edit. It's extremely irritating when every other program in existence uses a more sensible control scheme. There was no reason why they couldn't use the standard scheme.

I don't see how money has anything to do about it when it's a free program.

Trust me, they make money off it somehow.

Great! Although I don't have AIM, I'll find a way to contact him...

...He doesn't come here, per chance?
