Although the plot wasn't its strongest point, the map design itself is far superior to Blizzard's. The majority of SC: BW maps were just b&ds, and most were really boring, with no twists or gimmicks altogether. The entirety of SC had a grand total of 3 non-build & destroy missions, and BW had only a few more (although some were cool b&ds, like that Terran map with the cerebrates and their distinct powers).

Just try to picture Blizzard's campaigns without their cinematics and their overall quality is terribly diminished. Just because they're the official campaigns doesn't mean their quality is unsurpassable.

With a good AI b&d can be really, really good.

*points to Blizzard's SC1 AIs*

Yeah, that's what I mean.

In the current state of affairs anything I do for SC2 will likely be b&d with 3 to 5 character transmissions in the entire map (lol @ 20 mb/5 maps limit).
