Re: The New Forum
One of my threads (Local PyMS thread in my siggy if it matters) had the last link and last img bbcode break on the conversion. Also the size bbcode has changed, now requiring 200 to get something around what 4 used to be

I just posted in a Sc2 discussion thread and it said the post had to be approved by a moderator before showing. Crap the what?

Re: The New Forum
I ran in to a similar issue earlier on when the Forum was relaunched. It looks like a number of forum permissions have yet to be entirely configured. Anyways, Lavarinth was made aware and last I checked he was in the process of adjusting all of the necessary board settings. In the short interim I believe someone has been authorizing posts in as of yet unchanged sections as they pop up here and there.Xenon wrote:I just posted in a Sc2 discussion thread and it said the post had to be approved by a moderator before showing. Though he's now out for a little while, but he'll be right back at it later tonight.
Also, some of those SMF to PHPBB conversions did mess up, I had some issues with image attributes but I don't think there's much that can be done about it now besides finding and adjusting them on the fly, heh.

Re: The New Forum
Interesting. You should make it so that in forum index, we can see what tread was last posted in for each forum, instead of who the last person was. Or, show both. ;o

Pretty spiffy!
Although I agree with Mesk, I don't like having the avatars on the right-side. I can't tell who's saying what and it drives me crazy.

Re: The New Forum
There's a module that can be installed to do this, and it has been brought up in another thread in here. I believe it's on the list of modifications that still need to be sorted. It's coming!Dem0nS1ayer wrote:Interesting. You should make it so that in forum index, we can see what tread was last posted in for each forum, instead of who the last person was. Or, show both. ;o
I think you agree with Mesk entirely then; that is, he's also a big proponent of having the avatars on the left-side.Thalraxal wrote:Pretty spiffy!

I still don't understand the big issue here. Your natural tendency is to start reading the topic from the upper-left, you get through the message, and you naturally read the right-hand side. I kind of prefer not having to deal with the avatar, the user, the whatever; that is, until I'm done reading the substance of the post.
I guess it's all up to Lavarinth in the end, but I'm definitely for keeping the right-hand float.

Re: The New Forum
I believe the avatars should be on the left side too instead. Pretty much for the same reasons as mentioned.
I could have complained earlier to Lavarinth personally (saw a "beta" version of the forum) but it didn't strike me until I seriously try to read posts.
EDIT : Side minor thing, when trying to upload your avatar, the box is in light grey with white as font so essentially making it impossible to see the path. While you don't care to see the path itself, it's nice to know that there IS a path for a quick eye validation.

Re: The New Forum
As its been said, prefer avatar/etc on the left like its been for ages and pretty much is still on alot of forums.
Natural tendency doesn't mean a whole lot towards it being on the right for me.

Looks good, however I too want avatars on the left. It's how it's supposed to be.

Does the background fluctuate visually for anyone else too? The hundreds of black lines interspaced with the blue creates a moving visage that kind of hurts my eyes.
I agree with putting things back on the left side. Our language has us process words from left to right. When I read posts, I like to see who is posting it first, then what they wrote.

Re: The New Forum
That approval thing got fixed.
Also, just give it some time to get used to the right side. I have used and setup forums with both sides and people always get used to it. Resisting change much?

Re: The New Forum
On that note, could you have the namesof the forums (like "Starcraft II Discussion") be centered vertically? It looks out of place when # of posts and whatnot are centered on the right side. Also, forums with subforums have a huge gap between the name and the subforum links that also looks weirdLavarinth wrote:Still sorting positioning of things.
