I do what I can. I know that I can not play at the faster speed even against the AI at the higher levels, Hard Very Hard and Insane.
I played 1v1 and 2v2 on ladders in phase 1 with a 35% win rate in copper.
But I got the FFA 7 insane AI Achievement and all the Out Matched Achievements and a bunch of other stuff. 340 points and two portrates.
Just waiting for the 27th.

Re: The beta ends
Played a good load of games. Out of 23 games, I won 14. 6 losses were out of my incompetence. The rest was due to the damn crashes, typical of a beta. But I had enough fun, so it's worth hangin' a week and some more for it.

Re: The beta ends
On a further note, while their multiplayer melee balance is seriously bad, we still get the neat maps folks come up with.
Might just get the game for the campaign, then for the custom stuff that'll be made available over time.
One question, though: Anyone got any idea how to uninstall the client?

Re: The beta ends
With production of the game CD's already in effect, we must have been playing a variation of the build already in the beta. I agree with others that I doubt any major balance changes will be noticed after we install the game.
I saw Mesk's analysis of the Insane AI, and I agree it is awful. The computer AI lacks any form of progressive or clever strategy. I hope patches will be a continued progression throughout the game/s release to remedy what should have been implemented before July 27th.
I still had a lot of fun playing the beta, though. Thank you, Lavarinth!

I have seen the Desler. I have tasted of his milk and honey.

Re: The beta ends
While I have my doubts about the game, it looks to me like it will at the very least offer a solid singleplayer experience. Looking forward to it with cautious optimism.
I think I agree with Mesk's opinion on the multiplayer side of things, that it still needs work. However, since I stayed out of the beta, I'm just going to have to try it out for myself when the time comes.

Re: The beta ends
Any version of the beta we were playing was already multiple builds behind what they are using in-house, theres probably going to be numerous differences between the last beta client and retail even if they aren't balance changes.AA7Dragoon wrote: With production of the game CD's already in effect, we must have been playing a variation of the build already in the beta. Like most games these days expect a big release day patch.

I swear, Blizzard's PR is the worst I have ever seen.
Actually, belay that - Oblivion's and Bioware's is still worse. At least Blizzard is honest.
I'll take entertainment like that over the TOR trailers with failnerds trying to hype up the game despite their voices not even containing the slightest hint of their own confidence and enthusiasm?. Wait why the fuck am I talking about common sense?
http://i.imgur.com/o7iYi.jpgI'd think zerg need the most work out of all the races. They're just so... bland.
EARLY STAGES YOU SAY?I don't watch many high-level ZvT games, but the ones I've seen always end with the Zerg losing in the lategame stages.
Check picture above.
Then again Idra is pretty bland even from my casual standards.
Sounds like Desler needs to prepare to hard carry this shit.I really hadn't thought much about buying SC2 at all, to be honest. I might... maybe play the campaign, and maybe I'll actually try to do something a little more serious with the editor... but I hate the editor. When making the transition from SC to War3 I was pleased and excited, and things had a certain logical progression to them, but going from War3 to SC2 is like seeing someone throw all that orderly stuff and put a whirlwind through it.
The fact that you can do 4v4 Insane AI and beat them with nothing but jeeps and phoenixes is a testament to how bad the insane AI is, even though it's pretty fucking hard to survive the first attack or so if you do something that stupid. This is with casuals by the way.I saw Mesk's analysis of the Insane AI, and I agree it is awful. The computer AI lacks any form of progressive or clever strategy.
It's called precedence. Like gateway drugs, once you try the first one you'll move on to the next, then the next, and well you get the picture. This is why communities and the consumer market have the right with their money and in a sense, a responsibility towards how policies work via mass. Unfortunately the majority are too lazy and besides shit like Real ID which is as obvious as say a fucking meteor smashing on us, won't do jack all about it.Like most games these days expect a big release day patch.
