No, I'm pretty sure a good portion of us are casual <.< even here. Or at least as casual as long term gaming gets =PAA7Dragoon wrote: Everything is mainstreaming. Facebook has its hands in all mediums of technology. This is actually not a surprise. I know we like to think of ourselves as the gamer outside of the mainstream, but the reality is StarCraft 2 will be a notable and casually played franchise like the Wii was. WoW became a household name, and Blizzard intends to build on that with StarCraft 2.
It's actually a good thing. We'll get more hits off of Campaign Creations. CC does have a Facebook page ya'know.![]()
=/ That's pretty pessemistic, I'm pretty sure they'll at least put the basic crap in, though honestly with how they downgraded simple features like the pinging (in TFT/HON you can ping by just using alt+mouse click not alt+G+click T_T example) hoping for anything more would be silly.IskatuMesk wrote:'Course, without chat channels, communication inside sc2 will be virtually non-existent outside of established friend groups.
Xel, you don't know casual gamers. There are people who buy maybe four games a year. They will play one game once per month for an hour. To them, games are just a diversion, a very mild form of entertainment when there's nothing on TV. That's fair enough, people have different social priorities and recreational tastes in life, while some of us take it more seriously and have grown up playing them for thousands of hours. Then you can go and see poopsockers who ... well, you'd rather not see them, just hear about their existence at most.Xelxiuz wrote: No, I'm pretty sure a good portion of us are casual <.< even here. Don't you always end up raging against developers for not matching your precise requirements of a game?IskatuMesk wrote: Between the gameplay, battle.net 2.0, and the editor, I have no hope left for Blizzard. At least not the team responsible for sc2. It is a trainwreck is what it is. There is no reasoning or logic behind half the things they did, and the logic for the other half is so awful and brain damaging you wonder how these morons made it into a multi-billion dollar company at all.

Ultimately, what it drums down to is this:
If something does change it won't be because of anything we do as modders. It will be a long, painful change, brought forth by sites like TL.
