Manufacturing was outsourced to China. America became a consumer economy, buying up everything from China who used it not only to buy American debt but also rearm.
I didn't praise communism. To be fair I am a socialist, not a communist.
Still a lot of your arguments are valid, so I'll retract my position about China.

You can't retract it, you stated it on the Internet. "Two things in life last forever. The internet, and what you say on it" - Ancient Chinese Proverb

Mucky is a time traveler? Even on weekends, I learn something new!
The Dalai Lama is visiting Washington D.C. but for the first time in 18 years a U.S. president will not be meeting with him. American officials say President Obama will meet with the Dalai Lama after his meeting with Chinese president Hu Jintao, but is he pretty much saying that diplomatic relations with China are more important than the Dalai Lama?
In the most profound financial change in recent Middle East history, Gulf Arabs are planning – along with China, Russia, Japan and France – to end dollar dealings for oil, moving instead to a basket of currencies including the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.
Secret meetings have already been held by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean that oil will no longer be priced in dollars.
How is it secret if it is in the news? And where exactly do you read your news? Really does look like a white supremacy website (half-joking, half-worried).
And maybe relations are more important with your "enemy" rather than your friend. Or better yet, don't piss off the guy that owns most of your debt, rather than a guy without any country.
The idea of moving away from the Dollar has been around for ages, and isn't just an "Arab" idea. Gah, just independent article. And what the hell is that photo?

That's the drudge report. It's not a white supremacy page, per se, but the reporting there is not verified. Matt drudge will put up anything and everything so when he does get something right, he gets credit for having it first.

No, Matt Drudge is a racist wacko. That's just not the point of his website.

The drudge report is just a series of links to various articles, very popular especially in the US.
Commodities and the dollar have a seesaw relationship so taking the dollar out of oil trading can actually help it since if the dollar would rise, oil no longer matters since it's trading in a different currency.
