Re: The Campaign that never was
Phfff I don't recall all that much.
I had a campaign starting up called XD-16. It never saw the light of day.
I also collaborated with Lavarinth on The Tavern for Warcraft 3. It also died quite early.
I also did a bunch of voicing and music for several projects that did get released, so that was fun.
Now though I got some more experience under my belt, and for Starcraft 2 Lavvz and I are back with a vengeance.

Re: The Campaign that never was
I had a lot of fun making them, and my friends had fun playing them. They're horribly dated now, as my writing, triggering and terraining skills have improved a lot since then, but they were reasonably okay for their time.mAc Chaos wrote: Thalraxal, your campaign with you and your friends sounds fun.

I can only wonder how many community based maps were scrapped which detailed the current forumers at the time.
Good times.

I don't really make campaigns. I've tried it, but I don't find it nearly as rewarding as modding.
Plus, a game has yet to come out that isn't ridiculously limited or problematic to make something of mine in.

The campaign that never was... that sounds like my life.
There has never, ever been one campaign that I have finished.
But I'm in the contest and I have a deadline so that's motivating me. I hope that Reuniting gets finished... before July 31...

Warcraft 3: The Fall of Azjol-Nerub.
In theory it was supposed to be a four map campaign following a Lich in the employ of the Lich King, who was one of the orcs captured by Kil'jaeden along with Ner'zhul. This guy was assigned to bring about the fall of the Spider Kingdom, but the fledgling Scourge army was being outmatched by a high-ranking Nerubian general who was very good at hit-and-run tactics.
Mission 1 was an intro skirmish. Mission 2 would be going to the Dragonblight to raise some Frost Wyrms. Mission 3... don't remember what it was supposed to be. Mission 4 would of course be the siege of Azjol-Nerub where the Lich would lure the Nerubian general into a carefully-laid trap and annihilate his army. Hmm... I guess Mission 3 involved procuring the trap.
The trap is a powerful ritual magic developed during the war between the Aqir and the Trolls prior to the rise of the Night Elves, and provided by a Nerubian traitor. The ritual was believed to banish the victims to the void, but in truth they ended up in Purgatory (making the Nerubian general the ancestor of the Nerubians in Wanderers of Sorceria).
Then I toyed with the idea of bringing the Lich into another short campaign detailing what he did during the events of Reign of Chaos.
Then I realized even a short campaign made by me would take months.
So I stopped toying with it and decided to finish my existing campaign instead.

I don't recall ever not being able to finish a project.

Spiff Wars 3
I had it all planned out, and everything. It was going to be 20 missions. I had devised every detail, written every dialog, mapped out every gameplay element, made concept art for every character, every generic enemy, and every crate. But I got tired of waiting for Starcraft 3 to come out, and I lost my motivation.
