Well, Icekoldkilla and I finish a map like one every day, so probably by the end of the summer. but of course we must include testing it more, fixing it, sprucing up details.

Re: New Campaign: Wrath of the Zerg
The story sounds very confusing... so this takes place before the origional starcraft line? How does the cerebrate corrupt the dark templar? Why would the overmind give a cerebrate free will accidentally? What exactly is the goal of the campaign?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Re: New Campaign: Wrath of the Zerg
First: Yes it takes place before StarCraft original.Mantidz wrote: The story sounds very confusing... so this takes place before the origional starcraft line? Second: Influencing their mind, the leader of the Dark Templar manages to escape the Zerg taint, it is similar to what Kerrigan did to Raszagal except alot more quickly.
Third: The Overmind was more fixiated on the war between the Confederacy and Zasz on the planet Zan, he was sending in so many Cerebrates in he needed to create one more Cerebrate who would control a brood known as a "Death machine" in which he created Malgaz, of course he wasnt careful at creating the new Cerebrate, instead of just making the Cerebrate to mindlessley and willingly serve the Overmind he "accidentaly" gave him free mind.
Fourth: Its a civil war between the Zerg, the Overmind and the new brood known as the Basilisk Brood (Malgaz Brood).

Re: New Campaign: Wrath of the Zerg
The whole campaign concept completely ignores Starcraft lore. The first time the Terran, Zerg, and Protoss ever met is in the beginning of the Starcraft campaigns, so to have a prequel set back 40 years in which all three races are fighting each other again... it doesn't follow continuity at all.

What do you then propose Gemini? You made a good point, I wish to tweak the story but I do not know what to think of now.

A smart move would be to not use Blizzard characters in major roles.
You can create your own heroes, your own legacy. That way in SC2 there won't be anything to contradict your story.

Re: New Campaign: Wrath of the Zerg
The Blizzard characters such as the Overmind, and Daggoth are mission briefing only, maybe in the final level when the Overmind kills him shall he appear thats all. They are minor in the campaign, it is like Legacy of the Confederation sort of.
EDIT: Icekoldkilla and I are halting Wrath of the Zerg for now, still we straighten the story out so now my full task is on my WC3 campaign Worlds of War

Be original, trust me, it helps out a lot. Like Maglok said, create your own lore. Even IF it uses portraits of other characters like Life of a Marine or Legacy of the Confederation.

Re: New Campaign: Wrath of the Zerg
Actually the Confederacy new about the Zerg before SC1 so it doesn't completely ignore SC lore.

Re: New Campaign: Wrath of the Zerg
Yes, he is right, but the Overmind never truly did attack anyone before SC lore, the Zerg warped in to Terran space at the beginning of SC1. Gemini is still right.

Re: New Campaign: Wrath of the Zerg
Uh, yeah they do, they obliterate the Xel'Naga station that was above them in orbit. Which led them to be aware of the Protoss race, which was the next move for the Zerg, to acquire their "logic."

Re: New Campaign: Wrath of the Zerg
Well I know that part, what I meant is they never attacked any of the other two races in the game before StarCraft original.

Re: New Campaign: Wrath of the Zerg
Icekoldkilla and I have decided that until we can get the story different from the SC1 lore beginning and add new characters you know instead of Daggoth, Zasz. (Though the Overmind shall be featured due to his leader of the Zerg rank) That we have placed this campaign in "post-poned till further notice", so for now we are working on my WC3 campaign "Worlds of War".
