L4D is ok but there is a much better zombie simulator out there. Its just not promoted. Its called zombie survival and its a mod for Garry's mod. L4D is nothing compared to it.

Get gmod and connect to this server 99.198.101.203:27015 and prepare to be shocked at how much better it is than L4D. I've been playing Zombie survival for over a year nonstop and its the best game I've ever played in my entire life. (yeah, now you know why my activity around here has dropped. I've been too busy playing this game.)

If you haven't bought L4D yet, don't. Just buy Gmod which is 1/5th the price of L4D and connect to the server I linked you to. Its much cheaper and better than L4D.

Uh.. Zombie Survival and Left4Dead have ONE thing in common. Zombies. Aside that, they are not similar at all other than the fact they are FPS. L4D is a cinematic, anticipation, suspenseful game which plays out like a movie in the end and uses an AI Director to even cue sound effects to add to that movie feel. Zombie Survival is just that.. Survive as other players use their single attack to try to kill you, which is inevitable since you have like 5 bullets or a frying pan.

One you play for a story, the other you play for survival. It's a good game, Zombie Survival, but it's NOT comparable to Left4Dead. That's like saying Counter-Strike is better than Rainbow Six, or Halo Wars is better than Halo.

I know gmod sucks, just skip the shit and head to the zombie survival servers. Its what everyone does. Its worth the ten bucks.

You forgot one thing, there are 8 classes, each with a different attack ability. Also, fasties, poison headcrabs, and poison zombies do have a secondary attack. (fast zombie lunges, poison headcrab shoots poison, poison zombie tears off a part of itself and throws it at the humans.

If you play L4D for the story, then cheers, you're making the right choise as ZS has no story at all. However, gameplay wise, I personally prefer ZS, probably due to its arcadic nature.

I've played both. I bought gmod initially because i thought it was worth the money for some funny shit, and I wanted to support the modder. Worth the money.

But comparing a shitty zombie server setting to L4D is fucking retarded. it doesn't even come close to the gameplay in L4D. You don't have 100 screaming super fast zombies running at you, then a tank just barges in and beats the shit out of everyone. Not even close dude.

I'll let this video speak for me.

Keep in mind the sound is NOT normalized - I'm going to be a lot louder than the other sounds/dudes because of the way this particular mic was positioned during recording (in front of my speaker, towards me, and I'm right in front of it).

Also I'm messing with new codecs/settings so if it doesn't work use a player that doesn't suck.

And I'm yelling at the ending because people just send me random pdfs about calculus I couldn't give less of a shit about and break fraps.

Keep an eye out for Mucky trying to help Arcan up and instead giving him a facefull of lead - TWICE - which I later gave sloppy seconds with a third shot to the face.

It's worth noting this game was very tame - probably because the AI Director felt sorry for Arcan getting raped so much.

I hate.. When the Help pointer pops up and says "Careful with vehicles as they can alarm zombies" or something like that.. And some punk kid on the mic laughs and starts unloading on it... And then cue silence, suspense ambience, and then rush of zombies.

Ran into two witches. The first one we never saw, it came out of my molotov in a giant ball of fire and died promptly (the one I referred to in the video briefly). We ran into a second one with arcan/mucky at the very end of our unrecorded Advanced run. Someone, I think Arcan, just tanked her and we killed her in seconds.

I hope there's more boss types on release.
