Smart move, I think. Most people think he picked her because hes desperate for women votes, but she also is a good govenor. Though I'd rather of gone with Mit Romney.

What the..!? Are you blind?
A subsequent Rasmussen Reports poll from July 31, 2008 showed 35 percent of Alaskans rated her performance as excellent, 29 percent good, 22 percent fair, and 14 percent poor.
In 2007, the Alaska Creamery Board recommended closing Matanuska Maid Dairy, an unprofitable state-owned business. Palin objected, citing concern for dairy farmers and a recent infusion of $600,000 in state money. Palin subsequently replaced the entire membership of the Board of Agriculture and Conservation. The new board reversed the decision to close the dairy. Later in 2007, the unprofitable business was put up for sale. No offers met the minimum bid of $3.35 million, and the dairy was closed. In August 2008, the Anchorage plant was purchased for $1.5 million, the new minimum bid. The purchaser plans to convert it into heated storage units.
In 2008, when introduced as McCain's running mate, Palin told the crowd, "I told Congress, thanks but no thanks on that bridge to nowhere" — a line that garnered big applause but upset political leaders in Ketchikan. Palin's campaign coordinator in the city, Republican Mike Elerding, remarked, "She said 'thanks but no thanks,' but they kept the money." Democratic Mayor Bob Weinstein also criticized Palin for "using the very term 'bridge to nowhere' that she said was insulting."
Juneau requested a state disaster declaration, but Palin, following the recommendation of her Disaster Policy Cabinet, declined to issue one. She did ask the Small Business Administration to declare an “Economic Injury Disaster” for Juneau due to the abruptly higher electricity costs for local businesses, a request that was granted a week later.
   1. She is presently under investigation in Alaska for abuse of power
   2. She believes creationism should be taught in public schools
   3. She is opposed to abortion even in cases of rape and incest
   4. She strongly supports big oil (her husband works for oil company BP)
   5. She has no federal or international experience.  Prior to being governor (for less than two years) she was only the mayor of a small Alaskan town and a beauty queen!
   6. She believes global warming is a farce and is opposed to listing the polar bear as an endangered species
   7. She supports drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and anywhere else big oil wants
   8. She supports Pebble Mine which will destroy the richest salmon run in the world
   9. She supports aerial shooting of bears and wolves even though Alaskans voted twice to ban the practice.
  10. She used $400,000 of state money to fund a media campaign in support of aerial shooting of wolves and bears.

The Corruption in a nut shell : After she fired the Dept. of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan. Palin pressured Monegan to fire her sister’s ex husband who is a state trooper, and involved in a custody battle with Palin’s sister. When Commissioner Monegan refused, Palin fired him.
No, she's not.

Refer to my last post in which you will see why she isn't the best choice. Here's a hint: she's batshit insane. Lolz at Romney being considered as a VP.

That's because you're an Obama fanboy.

That's right, I've seen that growing list of how much 'dirt' Gov. Palin has. You really have to be grasping at straws if you think any of that is going to stick. Just see how much of it stuck to Obama and you will know why none of your silly schemes work.

Really this has to be one of the worst blunders for the McCain group. Aside from the fact that you've got someone who has wanted to see Alaska Secede the US (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch ... -frin.html), has a daughter who is pregnant (I think everyone knows this by now...), the boyfriend doesn't want kids (http://www.nypost.com/seven/09012008/ne ... 5.htm ), and she has practically has no foreign policy whatsoever, McCain is blundering even more by saying they don't want attention now with McCain canceling the interview with Lary King (http://thinkprogress.org/2008/09/02/mccain-cancel-cnn/)

...Or so the internets would have us believe.

And no I'm not an Obama fan. Honestly the only person I think who could really do this country good right now is Ron Paul. He has spoken for years about the true economical thinking we need to bring the US Dollar back up. The only way that would likely happen though would be if Palin decided to say she wants to care for her family instead of be VP and then McCain picks again.

tipereth, don't even get me started about Corzine.

Why would I want McCain to go with anyone? I'm Democrat.

The greatest irony of this thread is:  We associate the name Palin more with our dear friend Palin than the woman who was governor of Alaska and is suddenly McCain's VP pick.

Ron Paul is no radical or a fool. I dont understand how you can be a democrat and a Ron Paul supporter, at least go for the constitutional party
