They promised a Wrath of the Lich King 2008 release. Starcraft 2 they explicitely said 'not 2008', but they did promise a single player sneak peak at the end of the year.
Most likely a 2009 release if they start releasing sneak peeks of single player and campaign stuff as quoted by them. But they'll probably hold on to it to do some matinence, same with Diablo 3.

I thought they promised a 2008 release. Didn't they?
Blizzard makes promises?
Oh... I can't answer that question...
The only promise we get is for a bug free game. And then they won't and broke that one too.
Hopefully, there won't be as many patches as in WoW.
Can't you see we're attempting to make fun of RCcola for saying "Well, I hope StarCraft 2, an RTS, does not have as many patches as World of WarCraft, a massive multiple role playing game which over 8 million monthly paying customers play."
I loved the old Blizzard Map of the Week program. I didn't have the Internet back then, so a friend of mine would send me the map on 3-1/2 inch floppy disk. Good times, good times.
As an aside, I hope they do something like the Enslavers campaigns again for SC2. I was dissappointed that they didn't do something like that for WarCraft III. (Okay, we got the end of the TFT Orc Campaign, but that doesn't count).

I have to agree with you on that one. They had a lot of official stuff for Starcraft (a two story campaigns, two movies campaigns) but I was surprised that they didn't officially add anything to Warcraft III (outside of the "bonus" campaign).
They most likely will, just hope not a continuance campaign to a tutorial-like campaign as in WarCraft 3. They have so much depth in story i'm sure they can find something to make a small campaign out of.
in Warcraft III didn't they have that prequel campaign where they fought murlocs or some stupid shit like that?
but then that's more a War3 equivalent of the SC Precursor campaign, so...

Why doesn't it count? Apart from it not being openable in the map editor by default (ok that's a pretty big thing) it was pretty similar to Enslavers in terms of fitting in with the main storyline etc

The TFT Orc Campaign still counts as one of the TFT campaigns, even if they released the second half of it at a much later date. Meanwhile Enslavers I and II are more stand-alone campaigns.

Ya, then they had the bonus which was just them getting captured by the Murlocs.
That was the WC3 demo campaign, which would be equivalent to the StarCraft Precursor Campaign in the SC1 demo. Chances are, we'll get some kind of demo campaign for SC2 too.
