Blizzard is incompetent with a capital L for Lard. I mean, connection issues are expected, and it's a big part of the Diablo experience to have huge issues with latency. But there's already game-breaking bugs on top of that, too, apparently. And a lot of laziness.
Glad I didn't buy.

I beat the Skeleton King. Now running with a Melee Wizard like a boss. For some reason though it seems that I want the highest damage weapon I can get my hands on since all the Wizard spells seem to rely on it.
I haven't actually had any problems with the game whatsoever.

Same, no issues. Especially no latency issues.

Well, I'm not playing it for the sole fact that I CAN'T buy it. But nevermind, I can save the money for Heart of the Swarm, to delve deep into the ruin Blizzard is still capable of doing. (They're becoming quite THE specialists in that matter, if you ask me.)

Latency has been slightly ridiculous at 250-500ms, other than that no issues. Retail is a fair bit different than beta.
/e
Then the game goes back into its infinite loop of update tools/launching. Still only fixed by compatibility modes, which they say not to use on retail. lol.

Could it be... the resignation of those original Blizzard employees be the reason why Blizzard is lagging behind? I mean it's hard to find people with talent nowadays.

Blizzard isn't the same company it was back in D2's days, and d2 was Blizzard North, anyways.
What I find most amusing is how almost all of the rejects ended up on copycat MMO projects.

Odd, have you attempted updating Adobe Air? I've never had an infinite loop issue, including Beta, on three separate computers running W7.

Isk is right, most those people resigned themselves to create their own companies. Hellgate London was the first game to release from a group that departed Blizzard, which were part of the Diablo team if I recall, and that flopped so bad no one went past the first five minutes of the game.

Bill Roper went on a rampage of bad MMO's even after Hellgate. Then their senior staff splintered all over the place. Arena.net, Red 5, etc. Every time I hear of Blizzard ex-staff I hear of some MMO. Boring people.

I think I can see what the problem with Blizzard nowadays...
These are hypothesis, but I had observing the trends...
Possible Reasons:
1. Competition - There are lots of good games coming out of the woodwork now.
2. Facebook - It provides games with the advantage of social media interaction.
3. Free Online Games - Why would people try to waste money on games that costs when they can find free online games?
4. Marketing - The market has change when MMO games appeared. Blizzard is conservative when it comes to change. They really need to change their marketing methods if they hope to catch up with the new trends.

Huh. WoW is still the biggest MMO by far with their current marketing. In fact, I'd go as far to say as marketing is the only good talent Blizzard still has. They dump enough money into it. The power of their brand name is enough to keep all competition held down.

"Updating setup files." and "Launching Blizzard launcher." Just loops between these 2, updating AIR didn't change anything. It always launches without an issue the first time after installation then always does this. It won't get out of it without setting compatibility on the launcher to XP SP3.
Flapship had the great idea of avoiding the use of any middleware like the networking. It ended badly. Most of their team is in Runic Games (Torchlight) now. Seeing how Mythos was originally nothing but a tech tester for HGL.
