I honestly don't think there will be a vast amount of models to select from, but with updated tools (if allowed) from Blizzard, it'd likely be much easier to create and import them with the use of Maya now instead of Max.

As for the Archive, I was planning for that when the SC2 forum is introduced to CC.

Q&A wrote: 7. Can you provide more details on the Reaper's mine ability?
For me the interesting question on the Reaper's would be whether they are counted as flying or ground units while using their jetpacks (attackable by missile turret, evading zerglings, etc.)

8. Are the Zerg Sunken and Spore Colonies capable of moving out of the bounds of creep? Elsoron (battle.net)
Yes, they are able to move and plant themselves outside of the creeps boundary. Keep in mind that all Zerg buildings not in the boundaries of creep will slowly degenerate and eventually die. Creep which moves into an enemy base will also damage enemy buildings at a slow rate as well, allowing for new types of creep pushing strategies in StarCraft II.
I like this idea a lot. It has a lot of potential.

9. Will the Map Editor support letters from non-English alphabets (ó, ű, ő, ú, á, é, etc.)? (starcraft2.hu)
Well I hope they will enable Cyrillic letters, too. And maybe some 한국어/조선말 for our friends in South Korea.

Ricky_Honejasi wrote: Something I am wondering something else about SC2 lately ... how many models other than default units there will be?

In WC3, there were many models due to lots of creep creatures so in custom maps so it was reasonably easy to pick the "right" model without adding new models (which usually add considerably to the map size) and such with various potential ideas.

Also, I wonder if it will be possible to port WC3 models into SC2 with minimal hassle ... sometimes just to be able to use a new key trigger that is available in SC2 which isn't WC3 while in a more medieval-like map setting. More it is shiny 3D, the less it's believable to say that your marine is a "knight".
Well, we've got the default units, the hero units, the original SC1 units that didn't make it in and most of the units that didn't make it into the final version of the game (Soul Hunter, Tempest, Cobra, Predator, etc), plus whatever other NPC units (Hybrid, Xel'Naga, who knows what else).  We've got quite a few, but we don't have creeps and there aren't many NPC races (unless Blizzard decides to make sub-races representing different tribes/broods/factions), so it'll be less than WC3 had for sure.

Oo!  Sounds like the Terrans aren't the only ones who can burn down now.  I like how Creep is becoming abit more important than it was in SC1.
He. The Zerg are becoming more powerful in Starcraft II? This is quite interesting ...
Having their buildings wither and die while not attached to the creep isn't much of a power boost, but the other part is.  Plus there is (was) that nifty poison creep ability the Queen has (had).

wtf, people posted about the Baneling but forgot to post the ultimate win:

I'm killing someone if this thing isn't an unit in the actual game.

I thought that was supposed to be the regular Carrier? Or did they switch it back to the lame gray version?

The gold one that you see is the carrier.  The silver ones in the BG are removed.

Nah, it's not an ordinary Carrier. The Carrier in SC2 is just a reskinned version of the Tempest (the Dark Templar Carrier ships). The golden ship has a Carrier-esque model but it's definitely not the same as the Tempest. It's not the same model as the SC1 carrier, either. SUPERCARRIER FTW.  ;)

Custom race (As in, entirely new races supported by the randomizer/menu) and "mod loader" support according to Karune.
