A LOT of people will still buy it, not caring about the graphics.
It looks fine. No sign from me.

I always thought that rainbow was really odd looking.

Yeah, I know. But the fact remains that it's stupid.Desler wrote: There are lots of successful petitions that have worked, just look up obvious keywords in google. Regardless, I think petitions succeed if 1) its reasonable and 2) it doesn't demand something unreasonable. Those are two different things by the way.
No, I won't sign. Games don't bother that much.

2002? It still looks better than all the diablo-ripoffs which came out in these recent years.

Some people won't be satisfied until everything's so gritty that you can't make out what's on the screen.
Clarity is for chumps, apparently.

I guess that's why Diablo1/2 aren't hailed as premiere action RPG's rightAekenon wrote: Some people won't be satisfied until everything's so gritty that you can't make out what's on the screen.

And d3's got nothing on Titan Quest right now as much as I hate to say it.

Re: Myserious Artwork on Blizzard Website...
I like how in that pic they're basically saying "OMG BLIZZ PLS APPLY A PHOTOSHOP FILTER ON IT"
So Blizzard could probably easily cave in to their demands and add some 3D filter effect thing that's disabled by default so everyone else can play a nice game and not give a fuck about it.

Maybe. I highly doubt it would work that way, though. It would probably mangle more then it would fix.

Since it's not even an alpha the graphics can still get better. Better than Titan Quest, yeah.

Re: Myserious Artwork on Blizzard Website...
Well, I'd hope so. SC2's Desert and Ashworld tilesets really put D3 to shame. I honestly think they announced the game far, far too early. There isn't even any bump mapping.

Re: Myserious Artwork on Blizzard Website...
But Diablo 2 didn't have the style you seem to be arguing for. In that "HOW IT LOOKS/HOW IT SHOULD LOOK" picture, the unmodified image looks more D2-style than the one with the glorified photoshop edits. I maintain that D3 is staying true to D2's appearance.Doctor Doack wrote: I guess that's why Diablo1/2 aren't hailed as premiere action RPG's right
Besides, from a gameplay perspective, the cleaner the graphics, the cleaner it plays. It's important to be able to distinguish enemies and items from the ground they're standing on. But hey, if you really want to enjoy the game you see in the "how it should look" portion of that image, just crank down your brightness and contrast settings, and enjoy!

Re: Myserious Artwork on Blizzard Website...
If anyone seriously looked at SC2 side by side with SC1 knowing that 3d is going to make shading smoother and not as contrast limited (read: more shades) as 2d they looked identical before they changed anything.
I sure as hell don't want another doom 3 where you can't see half the game.
EDIT: Really my only complaint is that there isn't all the doodads that were everywhere making everything look like demons were running around in it.
