Yeah, I'm not thinking so much gameplay-wise but plot-wise, it'd be a bit weird if archons were left out, if protoss couldn't merge with each other any more. :P

When I wrote that thing about hopefully they include art from old units I was thinking mostly archons & defilers.

They must have medics whatever happens.  And sexy voices for them.

Also, it would seem strange if they cut out the firebats.  I mean what game with aliens wouldn't have a flamethrower unit?

I always thought the medic voice was irony incarnate, her being voiced by Kerrigan's VA. :P

Ready for a sponge bath?

I thought the Medic was Jason Hayes' wife?

Ah then we must deduct like Mr. Holmes. It's a fact Glynnis Talken voices Kerrigan and the medic http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0848087/ and it's also a fact Jason Hayes is married.

Then if we eliminate some anwsers then the remaining anwers, however unlikely must be the truth. Hayes is married to Talken? :P

No, no, no, must of been my bad. I know she voiced someone in StarCraft though. Valk? Hm. She also did the Rouge in Diablo, and Dryad in WarCraft III, which has some pretty good pissed/passive audio.

There terrain in space levels seem to look similar to Star Wars Empire At War I must say. And the buildings and units are ALOT better, buildings are larger scale then in say WarCraft 3 and units are good size for what they should be.

Pretty damn cant wait

It will be worth all the waiting.

Blizzard hasn't shown any cloaked units yet (save for burrowed Zerglings). Hopefully cloaked units will be shown as distortion effects like in SC; perhaps Blizzard hasn't finalized the effect yet. I can't tell if burrowed Zerglings leave a distortion effect on the ground like in SC (I have the lower-resolution video); maybe someone with the high-resolution video can see it, but it's possible the Zerglings were added by triggers before surfacing (or had invulnerability or ridiculously high HP) because otherwise the nukes would kill them.

The distortion effect for cloaked units probably won't be too high-end because it needs to look the same for all players without impacting performance on lower-end computers. If the effect changed with the game's graphic detail level it would give undue advantage to one player or another regarding the ability to pick out cloaked units.

This is probably why Blizzard restricted the camera zoom in WC3 and may do it again in SC2; a player with a higher-resolution monitor could zoom out farther and have view of a larger battlefield area while still being able to pick out important details. Hopefully we will be able to do whatever we want with the camera in replays and when allowed by a custom map's triggers.

Edit: New Battle.net functionality... hmm... how about the ability to play co-op or competitive campaigns online or on a LAN? Maybe even Blizzard's campaign could be played in multiplayer. Even if there were only 1 or 2 player-controlled armies, these could each be controlled by a group of players ala Empire Clash.

Carriers? Archons? How about fusing two Carriers together to get... Carriarchons aka a Carrier with another Carrier taped onto it?  ;D

There are Ghosts at the end of the tech demo.  And I do believe the effect is similar to the original Starcraft.

Xenon> You see cloaked ghosts in the demonstration. Watch VERY carefully before they appear. They walk in cloaked. It's the same effect as sc1.

A lot of the demo WAS triggered. The movement of units, the spawning of units, and ordering the AI to build stuff.

Ugh, silly me forgetting about Ghosts while remembering every other cloaking unit in Starcraft :P
