Fiction update, with Tales from the Wheel.

I've gone back and tried to fix all the formatting errors made when transitioning into plain text. There's still likely some errors floating around because the occasional special characters that get introduced are fairly easy to miss.

The tales this time are The Wedding, Tranquil Snow, and Moonlight Prism 1 through 3. The first two are self-explanatory, while the third, the three Moonlight Prism stories, are a different take on Hana and Riko where they don't go through the Sunshine Melody drama to get to where they are. Some of the things are the same and assumed to be so, while others are different. In particular Hana's character arc she was put through was condensed because she has a much better support system this time (and because Aoi is still a dick), while Riko's character arc is entirely new, dealing with the shadow of expectations put on her to become a J-pop idol. The background tale for Riko here is likely similar in The Second Generation, but this is her first real arc outside of the Sunshine Melody drama. So, in a lot of ways, Sunshine Melody really screwed with Hana and Riko.

The Wedding is obviously about Kanna and Shion, and Ziel and Luna getting married as outlined in the Anthology series. While Kanna and Shion is relatively straightforward, I had a lot of fun imagining Ziel and Luna having THAT kind of a relationship where Luna is just quietly angry with him.

Tranquil Snow, of course, is about Shizuka and Yuki and focuses on them for the most part, along with their supporting cast.

Fiction update, with Tales from the Wheel.

The new stories include Miranda, White Siren, Haruka Finds a Date, Tranquil Snow, Moonlight Prism, and finally, a story about Mizuki and her daughter, effectively a 'sequel' to the original Mizuki story.

The Miranda story is a sort of remake of the older White Siren story with a different twist. Like the other Miranda story it is still written in her third person perspective which I thought was still funny for her gimmick.

Haruka Finds a Date goes into Haruka's familial obligation to progress her family line at Kanna's insistence, but since this is Haruka and she's a bit of a loser socially she has no idea what she's doing.

Tranquil Snow leans more into Shizuka becoming an actress and what it means to her personally, and leads into the Mizuki story.

Moonlight Prism has Hana and Riko grapple with their own struggles with fame and professional relationships.

With this set of stories I put a little more thought into the 'next generation' now that many of the characters had kids. I don't know how I feel about this right now, but maybe it's because I'm not prepared to let some of them go yet.

I decided to fire up some random Wanderers of Sorceria campaign maps with the release of Warcraft 3 2.0.

Frankly the graphics/UI updates were the only things they did. All the other problems are still there. I can't even begin to think how one would fix it, much less how they broke in the first place. For instance, the Music triggers still don't function right and I'm not sure they ever would. Second, unit portraits are just randomly some other 'default' portrait and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. And of course, when you toggle the Classic HD/Reforged sliders in the Options menu, you really have no idea what you're getting.

I mean, one of Reforged biggest problems is they changed the names of the files. It broke things. Some of them are still broken. I hear the Siege of Silvermoon in the Undead Campaign suffers because of it.

Mayby I'm old fashioned, but everything worked in 1.26 through 1.29. Technically it worked in 1.31, but there was a glaring trigger bug if you Saved and Loaded a game that made certain triggers just plain not work for some reason.

As an aside, one of the levels I did was where Kurumi was fighting Zava. I ended up doing it without the Sentinel because I forgot that was how I was supposed to beat it. Oh well?

Wow, didn't expect to see tons of new fictions. It is truly amazing that you are still working on the story.

Regarding the music trigger issue, here is one possible solution in this post: https://www.hiveworkshop.com/threads/im ... st-3592137. Although I think it is unnecessary to do this tedious work that since most campaign players kept the Legacy version.

Fiction update, with Tales from the Wheel.

The new stories are 'Suzie the Rising Star 2' and Tranquil Snow 4 and 5.

'Suzie the Rising Star 2' is a time skip and currently the furthest in the story, taking place where Suzie is 16 and Shizuka is 32. It may feel like I'm boxing my characters in by saying stuff that happens in the future, but I've always had this in mind when I set Shizuka down this path that she'd 'disappear' from the world of light, hence her workaholic tendencies for around 15 years, like this is the price for indulging in her own personal pursuits.

Tranquil Snow deals with more slice of life adventures with Shizuka and Yuki and their friends.

I was originally going to post a fiction of 'Vampire Princess Luka', but that needs more time to bake. It's probably not as detailed as I would like, but it gets the point across in a way.

I'm playing really fast and loose with how time passes in these stories, but they all have at least some kind of rough progression to them. While none of the stories really deal with the world of darkness, it's still there, it just takes a backburner to other things because of lack of interest and no real stakes going on at the moment. The 'big' world of darkness story was alluded to the entire time and is an idea I probably shared on here before that deals with Sypha's developing campaign of revenge.

Fiction update, with Tales from the Wheel.

- Miranda, Rock Singer. Finally found a way to finish this after months of this sitting around; ended up just plain rewriting it from scratch because the first version hit a dead end.

- Tranquil Snow 6 and 7. This is basically the same story divided into two parts because of the subject matter; originally the 'Chaotic Love!' portion was started in 6, but I decided to move the whole thing into its own chapter. It's basically a more detailed event of the TV show, except Shizuka isn't playing the maid in this universe. And how she ends up upstaging everyone anyway.

- Moonlight Prism 6. This one's been stewing for a while. I wanted to write a story about the other band members, but ended up creating another character to write about. Astra is a dick, and we love her for it.

- Vampire Princess Luka. A telling of the 'Vampire Princess Luka 1 and 2' films from the perspective of the films' stories. It's basically the same stuff that was hinted at while Shizuka was filming these movies, working with the expanded outline I referred to. It's not particularly feature-length detail, but it gets the point across.
