Eliminating Reverb
Are there any strategies I can employ to eliminate the natural reverb of my bat cave? It isn't really an issue on edited voice, but with the need to do many many many non-edited lines, the more I hear that slight reverb the more it pisses me off. I have no other places I can move the mic, really.
Currently, the desk is in a corner. Would somehow moving the mic to the center of the room be more beneficial? Or, is there cheap hardware I can acquire? I'm using a Bluemic Yeti.

Don't know if there are equivalents to your mic, though...

Oh boy. 87 euro means at least twenty thousand Canadaland funbucks. Looks like...

This is going to be fun.

You can build your own similar device, I believe.

Re: Eliminating Reverb
I am not particularly resourceful, but what kind of building are we talking about?

Re: Eliminating Reverb
That still looks quite a lot more sophisticated then what I'll be able to scrounge up.
I guess cat hair will have to suffice.

@Laconius:
You can't buy this, it's self-build. (Not from me)
@IskatuMesk:
You can also try to use some quilts and build your own improved "recording chamber" around your microphone.
There are some people out there, who climb into a cupboard to make recordings. This method may sound strange, but it's an effective way to avoid reverb effects during an recording session. (Stereophony)

Re: Eliminating Reverb
I tested my current experimental setup successfully.
My setup is to drape a blanket over myself, my mic, and my monitor.
I suspect I'll get some kind of brain damage from any fumes that emit from an LCD monitor real fast, but it's not like I'd notice the difference.
And it works!

Re: Eliminating Reverb
oh boy, $130? Let's not try to drive me balls-deep into debt
The idea has merit... I wonder if one of the boxes I have lying around would suffice. They are all full of dead hookers, though.

Ugh, you guys and your expensive tools. I'll see if I can scrounge up the old article I had about reverb.
