Some people are saying they can still name their pets.

There's really no way for me to find out for sure since you can't REname it. As things go you have nothing to lose.

/run PetRename("NAMELOL")

Of course you have to have logged in as Frost for it to work. The game doesn't recognize you as being a pet class unless you do that.
