3 tempar was used to make an archon in SC2? what kind of a moron is this!

edit: fuck it, if blizzard screws up SC2 we'll just translate the SC2 story line into a SC1 campaign and mod
right guys?

Ya thats going to be fun Chris, make new skins, new names, ranks, story, everything into the StarCraft 1 engine, thats not going to be easy. Like I stated he probably confused the beta with the actual Templar.

Poor guy is getting a lashing out of this, bit quick to judge huh? Still not something we needed to hear, but I bet they brought the idea of using 3 back during talks. Remember, they've been playing SC2 internally for at least a short while, and they haven't released the information about the Twilight Archon other than it exists.

Still think Soul Hunters don't have a place ingame. Hell, a name change would at least make it better.

High Capacity Minerals? I think those are fine. (gems ftw)
Now with 50% more lol, 50% more win, and 100% phlail.

Well, not to put to fine a point on it, but in order to think that to a point where he thought that it's improving the game, he had to have left a gameplay meeting at some point convinced that it was 3 Templar to an Archon. It's not so much that he forgot the number, it's that he insisted on it improving the gameplay.

That's scary if he's still thinking in terms of Alpha. Is he aware that this is ten years later? Maybe if he made a post on the forum stating the reason for his confusion the fans would be quicker to forgive. There's a lot of halfway-justified paranoia that this is quickly becoming a C&C clone, however, and silence from the dev team is only further justifying it.

I'm confident Starcraft 2 will be a great game, but it will never be the same Blizzard.

I quote myself from the Blizzard forum:
Just put it bluntly, honestly, WHY would he say something like this, it's simple knowledge. It was not mistake when he continues on about the new feature requiring only two Templar. That's like saying "he played ONLY the Alpha," in THAT case, WHY have him as Lead Producer. As stated by others, anyone in a Lead position should know the entire previous product. Two High Templar is not even lore, exactly, it's game mechanics.
In addition to that, he never confirmed there is an internal alpha, he said soon they would have one. Understand the Alpha of StarCraft is the ALPHA. It's been dead and gone since StarCraft. StarCraft has been released for nearly ten years.

Let's discuss these new Terran units, I think that the Viking is a great idea, IMO. I just hope Thor isn't a superunit.

You may not be aware, but there is something called a Modify/Edit button. I recommend putting it to avid use.

Or how about when Blizzard Insider had a strategy discussion courtesy of Tillerman, who by that time was exposed for losing to a rather easy-to-prevent Mass Siege Engines. It wasn't that his opponent was any good; his opponent was left alone in the game far too long to be reasonable.

I'm going to have to side with Lavarinth on this. This is a simple core part of starcraft. Maybe he is remembering an alpha from 10 years ago, it's the best explanation I've seen so far. Either way, he should be up to date on these things and very familiar with starcraft. But for now, I'd like to just let the issue rest, see if Blizzard says anything, and not dismiss starcraft 2 or make any premature judgements about the game.

As for the team playing SC2 on the inside, during the interview he mentioned that they were not playing it yet.

The StarCraft 2 and a few others were playing it but it wasnt in the alpha/beta stages where EVERY one in the company was playing he stated.
