woah.. did that shark just take a chunk out of the Golden Gate bridge?  lol  that crap ain't funny man!  I'm sure there are other sufers such as myself that play Starcraft and find themselves spooked now and then as well.  I surf about 40 minutes south of that spot and they're definitely out there.  This famous pic with the GoldenGate seen in the background creeps me out all the time.  Scarry shit man.  I prob won't be seeing that movie. :)

Yamato was a Japanese battleship that we Americans sunk in WW2.  Expansion happy Japs were trying to take our Hawaii :) I don't blame em.

The computer sure has made sci-fi effects just awesome and almost any small company can now produce such stunning effects.  Hollywood Actors?  Does Sci-Fi/action even need actors?  These action packed movies have come a  long way since Lucas and StarWars.  None of you guys were even born when StarWars came out, but myself 11 at the time remember it like it was yesterday.  This was just awesome.  Nothing could compare to it.  Now the graphics look pretty corny compared to the modern sci-fi.  Should have just ended with the Empire Strikes back and call it a wrap.

Interesting thread.

See, Japanese movies tend to be cheesy, but unlike Hollywood, Japanese cheesiness actually tends to be entertaining.

I always found it funny that they never made a TV show about the Yamato's sister ship, Musashi.  While both got sunk by the US, the Yamato basically got obliterated beyond any chance of reconstruction.

ONLY I MAY DISCUSS YAMATO!!!  I AM THE FOUNDER!!! THE FUCKING FOUNDER!!!  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  *explodes*

That was a nice fan video, the 2nd yamato one, but absolutely incomparable to the movie one.  I hope a Yamato resurgence is underway.  Everyone may still yet know the name Desler some day.

I'll have to read up about that sister ship.  Sounds interesting.  Battlecruisers weren't that important in the battle of the Pacific.  Many believe that Pearl Harbor was allowed to happen because all of our Aircraft carriers were out to sea at the time as evident by aerial photos.

It's from Yamato, the ancient and legendary Japanese province, just like the Musashi.  There were however, famous warriors named for both provinces too.
