When I mentioned I was recording videos of LotRish maps and putting them on youtube, some people seemed interested so I thought I'd share them here as a way to link to people.  Here's two and if you want more you can check my profile.

I actually really like these map types since they combine this odd mix of macro unit strategy, economy (in some versions), micro, and of course, LotR immersion.  I have a few favorite versions myself although the ones people play now are so complex, maybe needlessly, that the host will ban anyone who downloads.  (Which is sort of silly since that means almost no one will play but a few hundred people).

In any case, thanks for the videos since they brought back some memories of these maps and of course, the cheap Recall raiding everyone used to do with heroes.  Ricky has a nice video of him, Arcan, Mucky, Aperape, Aek, and me playing Diplomacy 2050 although it's long on CC somewhere.

Although my videos got an issue with audio sync since my audio card really need to be replaced (sync grows worse over time).

EDIT : And yeah, I still didn't rename them (XXX to whatever map name) and probably won't at this point heh.

Weird. Probably nothing took me out of the game more than a map that tried to tell me a mechwalker was some fantastical beast XD

Well, you have to consider back then (6-8 years ago) that you had to tell the player that X and Y unit are that instead. It was almost already "advanced" to just rename your unit.

Although now, with being able to have custom 3D imported models in Warcraft 3 and many other moddable games and so on, we might be "spoiled" these times about it.
