This Battle Report felt a lot less scripted and definitely showed the play style and micro-managing of the players.  Good recovery by the Terran player.  Those NIghthawks seem interesting and I like the Marauders.
I have seen the Desler.  I have tasted of his milk and honey.

It almost seems as though Zerg are just good in the early game and if they don't win then, they are screwed. :P

That's just the terrible players. Remember, zerg have super-buffed ultralisks with cleave, guardians, and other fun stuff.

If SC2 is anything like the original, Zerg simply cannot win if they have the same number of bases as the Terran, and that's exactly what this guy was doing. He tries to expand once, it gets owned, then he never attempts again.

I don't think the map design helps much, either. Lots of narrow passages favor the Terran more, especially with all the AOE from the Nighthawks. I think Blizzard still hasn't learned anything about making good maps.

Also, I watched the video again to see what Tipereth said about the Queen exploding in a disproportionately small puff of blood. Besides that, Dustin Browder should be a fucking sportscaster. He's like John Madden.

"The SCV has spotted the Overlord so now he knows his opponent is ZERG!"

Thanks, dude! I can see you're not the lead designer for nothing!

What really gets me about the zerg is this.

Okay, he's got the terran contained.

Like, 15 minutes into the game, he takes a third base.

That's closer to the terran.

That isn't a yellow mineral expansion, like the one RIGHT NEXT TO HIS NATURAL.

Come on.

That one had rocks though. Doable yes, but it seems you need to like hit them 2000 times, since it has so high armor.

Well, he did take down the rocks behind the terran's base relatively easily. I'm sure it isn't difficult to throw a handful of lings that otherwise end up suiciding the entrance to that.

^ Well, he started off strong, but he never advanced higher up the tech tree.  The Terran player only won because of those Nighthawks.  The Zerg player was reactionary.  He called the shots at first, but then he started adapting his strategy to what the Terran player was doing rather than doing what he wanted.  Which didn't make sense to take a defensive standpoint when he controlled the whole map.

Ah well, I am not really all that good in normal melee gameplay anyways. :)

The last game was better, but this one was nice.  I thought the Terran was going to lose early on.

True the zerg player just seemed to give up attacking, I am more confused about what it was doing on the economy front, obvionsly not enough drones.

Blizzard rep posted an up-to-date list of the Mothership's abilities.

http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=16474316282&sid=3000

Honestly, I think this unit sucks and should be replaced with something else. It started out as a superunit, which no one liked, and now it's a glorified Arbiter. Except it's worse because it's slower, and if I understand the Dark Pylon correctly, its abilities overlap with the Mothership's cloaking field.

Eh. I liked the mothership as simply a non-unique assault platform, something to compliment carriers with time bomb. Now it's a caster again, one that really doesn't make any sense. I really liked time bomb actually, but now the mothership seems very confused as to what it wants to be.
