Final Fantasy 13 joins X-Box 360
And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth at the Sony towers.

Re: Final Fantasy 13 joins X-Box 360
hahahaha yeah I saw this mentioned on another forum
everyone was laughing at the Sony fankids complaining on GameFAGs when it doesn't directly affect them since it's still coming out for PS3 as well (and X-Box version may come later??) except for the fact it's one less game that justifies them buying (getting their parents to buy) that particular console
Example:

Example:
I came.I can pretty much track my childhood and growth to adulthood alongside the releases of Final Fantasy games. It's funny how my maturation ended up paralleling that of the series itself. I guess I'm just blessed that by coincidence my birth happened at the exact time to make something like this even possible.
Wide eyed and excited, brash and sure of righteousness and good in the world, I felt drawn to FF4 (2 US) on the SNES like no game I had ever been drawn to before. A few years later I was a little more vulnerable, understanding of my need for friendships and trust, and FF6 (3 US) was there as well, Terra and I were going through the same experiences in our lives.
I purchased a Playstation just because of FFVII, and I was rewarded for my trust with only the greatest game to ever grace a console. Bold, deep, mature, it was everything I was craving. The loss of Aerith paralleled a deep personal loss I had experienced just prior IRL, and just like with FF6, I felt like the game and I sort of got through the tough periods together.
This continued with FF8, and FF9 was just what I was looking for at the time, a joyfull reminder of youth and things past, and a sense that it was okay to recapture it and revel in it, even if its time was past.
Once again I picked up a PS2 just for FF games. I would talk about how FFX mirrored my brash entry into a more adult world and relations with the opposite sex, and X-2 led to my understanding and acceptance of that other sex as a full time part in my life, but I just dont have the heart. My soul is crushed. I can't even think about talking about FF12 right now I just can't.
I bought a PS3 for FFXIII and not much else. I put my trust in Square, in Sony, in myself. That trust has been broken. I really don't know what I am feeling right now but it is unfamiliar. I'm angry, but it is more than that. Part of the FF series was making that total commitment to the console, and being rewarded for that commitment with a barrage of emotions, feelings, and sensations that only a game carefully crafted in a symbiotic relationship with a single console could provide. Now that Square-Enix has violated my trust, and this bond, it's not going to be the same this time.
I hate to say it but it looks like I am going to have to forge a life of my own now, without Final Fantasy guiding me along. But right now all I feel like I can do is cry.

Re: Final Fantasy 13 joins X-Box 360
Gametrailers forums were fucking lulz when this was announced. Originally the trailer was released 30 minutes before the announcement and threads were popping up like "FF13 luk sux" ect... When it was announced it was going to 360 the board turned into "ZOMG FF13 LUK SPLOOGE".

Lol, what a douche bag. It's about time there's a Final Fantasy for the 360, I've been wanting to play one.

Re: Final Fantasy 13 joins X-Box 360
This is gay. And I [own] all three consoles. I'll be buying it for PS3, thanks. It's a matter of it's been this way in history, no multi-console releases. This is Enix's doing I say, damnation do I hate Enix!
Either way I don't really care, personally. Tough I feel like Microsoft is pulling out all their tricks to make their console survive with all these revamps in the work, considering personally the last game I bought for the 360 was Rockband and I regret not getting it for the PS3. And that was last November,

Re: Final Fantasy 13 joins X-Box 360
Well, Final Fantasy XIII Versus (whatever the fuck that is) is still a PS3 exclusive. So this may actually turn to the advantage of Sony if FFXIII impresses. Personally, I don't hold much hope unless they really start doing something about the gameplay. The materia system of 7 was so much fun to work with. The sphere grid of 10 was alright, probably the best we've seen since VII. Instead though they seem to be concentrating on blowing people away with, admittedly beautiful FMVs.
Ah well, enough ranting. I think my love of the original Final Fantasies simply spawned from seeing a good story combined with fun gameplay, but there is enough of that to go around from a lot of other games that i don't have to pine over the series any longer.

Re: Final Fantasy 13 joins X-Box 360
Each Final Fantasy is created by a different producer unless it's a continuation of an original. (Such as FFX-2 and FF7: Crisis Core.) This leads to people trying their own attempt at making something catchy. I have to agree with you though, the simplicity of Materia was amazing in 7 and still to this day my favorite. 10's Sphere Grid was ok, but time consuming at time. I enjoyed 8's attempt to acquire magic, but it allowed anyone to use anything.
I read 13 may possibly be the last Final Fantasy they create for a while, which would make sense with the multi-console. The reason being they want to create a world so immersible that they can create a large amount of sequels. Possibly even for the next decade. That's what the article said, however, as mentioned, Final Fantasy is created with different teams, some key members working on most projects but typically never the same producer, so it'd be no different than them working on FFX-2 and FF12 at the same time a few years ago, so I doubt 13 will be their last for the next decade.
I'm still waiting for 6 and 7 remade. I'm sure we've all noticed the pattern. 1, 2, and 3 were re-released. Tactics was re-released. 4 is about to be. I read 5 is in the works. 6 is bound to be with its popularity and memorable characters. And of course, after that tech demo- 7 as well. Seeing 8 and 9 in higher quality would be interesting as well, personally.
(Check it out, a long post.)

Re: Final Fantasy 13 joins X-Box 360
only 11 was online. My biggest complaint about the series is they can't stick with a good system. 7's materia thing was fine, in 8 you can't use your good spells unless you want your stats to suck, 9 was meh, 10 was retarded, I didn't touch 11, and 12 has that shit where every character is more or less the same

Re: Final Fantasy 13 joins X-Box 360
Final Fantasy should go back to basics. Their experimental leveling systems have mostly been unsuccessful. I hated FF8. In fact, it's FF8 gold/draw system that ruined the entire game for me. It had better graphics than 7, an appealing storyline, but the worst system ever!
