Falchion's Nest: SC II Beta Analysis

ME!!!  Yea, it's me really.  The Falch, the guy you never expect, now in a Beta!  Only less than two months before release, and I tried making campaigns and such.  In the end, I only had to criticize, excuse me, REVIEW a campaign!  Well, one good can come of this, I can use this experience to improve the Duality gameplay.

Oh, well, let's go on to the baking from what I saw on BNet yesterday.  First rant:  NO UMS???  WTF, BLIZZARD, WHAT ABOUT WAR OF THE LOST KINGDOMS 2?  LOTR GAMES?  RPGEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS???

Okay okay, calming down.  ;D

Now, on to more serious things, like the in-game play.  In a few things I agree with Mesk:  Marauders are overpowered, as are Colossus and Roaches.  We got serious Stalker spams here, not to mention Void Rays.  Terran AA works for shit unless by the numbers.  What can one do?  Some things, FIRSTLY the Roach-  Oh, nevermind, reading patch 12 thread now, they raised the supply count for it, a good kill, but still not enough.  I'd ask for three.  Second, less marauders and more Marines, they can't do anything anymore!  Give a serious shooting buff, or armor, or BOTH preferentially!  Serious, even broodlings can overcome these guys.  A question, if we change the name from Marine to Meat Shield, we'll no longer have Starcraft 2?  Thirdly, the 'Toss guys, oh what you can say...  I don't know, make the Void Ray more expensive???  More supply costing?  How about nerfing Stalker damage?  And the Colossus'?  No, no, it's just me.

Other than that, let's go on some other things, like, for example, those new mechanics.  Zerg, firstly, the spawn larva and creep tumor abilities were ones I loved.  But I think it leaves the Overlord left out, as the creep spreads either way, the only useful thing coming out of it is the ability to drop it on clean ground.  On the larva, let's just remind the Zerg were always meant to be macro-bent, so good call on that one.  Terrans, I don't like saying that but please, you must either call of MULE's or extra supplies, 'cause both just don't make well for balance.  It's like wine and meds.  Either we choose to save extra space the Sup Depots take or have the economic boost.  Finally, the Protoss mechanics seem well balanced to me, foremost the Warp Gate and boost production ones.  But raising the supply expenses a bit more further, or cutting Pylons' would do better.

But what really left me shocked were battles.  Mesk had full reason on this one, they're FREAKING QUICK!!!  I now see Duality can take an advantage and longer the shots.  Battles this fast, there's no way players can recover!  I can't even think the mass a Desert Strike 2 would be if it were ever launched...

Also, another multi issue is not being able to talk to anyone.  Every time I go on a team game I can only talk to my ALLIES!  What, is being afraid of swearing to your foes a mood now?

Well, that covers it, for now.  Wish I could send videos and such, but it'd take alot of work.  Gotta go.  And, Blizz, kudos for your art department, these Zerg are not Zerg.  They are ZERGASM!!!!

Nerf Stalker damage? What in the name of all that is holy-

Ooooooh, I see what you did there. Very clever. I almost fell into your little trap, but I'm too cunning.

I'm a competative sc2 player in the vT clan, I regularly practice with some of the best USA players such as Huk, Attero, Antimage, Moo, Torch, Painuser, Zerker, and Godder.

I chuckled. Yes, Falchion, it defaults to Ally chat since in SC1 people's first task would be to "ac on" or "ally chat on" so now it just defaults.

Your posts never make sense to me. That's actually not a joke or something, most of your posts really don't make sense to me. ^^ What does that mean?

Well, me, maybe, but I didn't ask the other guy to spend it all on Zealots, right after he lost power to Gateways!!!

You can't blame the guy. He really wanted those zealots.
