Satyr Sjunday Event Information (Re-updated!)

Satyr Saturday is now active again starting on January 7,2012. The event dates will depend on the calendar of this thread.

Closed again in favor of only the FFS event for SC2.

NOTE : Satyr Saturday has been suspended on September 15, 2010. There is still the Frenzied Firebat Saturday event for SC2 going on.

At CC, we have a Warcraft 3 event called Satyr Saturday.

However, the Satyr Saturday (SS) event was changed into the Satyr Sjunday (SSJ).

In addition, the event information has changed to the following :
-> Every Sunday (instead of Saturday previously)
-> Now at 11 pm to 1-2 am GMT-5
-> USWest server (and NOT USEast)
-> Channel "op tpcnet" (re-reswitched from "clan LLDN" again)

For anything, to whisper to me on battle.net, the syntax is /w Ricky_Honejasi yourmessage .

In addition, feel free to post messages or PM me over CC if you have questions.

Posted to make a "new" sticker.

I heard from Lavarinth that some were interested to come to the event but didn't know it was modified to another time and I forgot to update this. Now I did update it to the right information.

Now the LLDN clan was revived thanks to more people that came to the event lately :p

Thus the meeting channel from the next week will be "Clan LLDN" instead of op tpcnet.

If again, you can't join the channel due to the channel being barred or so, do message me over b.net.

As a remainder, SS's time has changed to 11 pm GMT -5 (from 7 pm) and will last only until 1-2 am due to the SC2 event starting every Saturday at 9:00 pm until 2-3 am.

Quick question, how many people usually show up each time?

It varies greatly. If we're lucky we can get 8, but sometimes there's 4 or less, and less than 4 generally isn't good for anything other than testing stuff.

You're welcome to come; you're not likely to push it over the common map limit of 10, if that's what you're asking.

Pretty much what Xenon said.

Also, the meeting place is now back to channel "op tpcnet" again.

Wait, what? The first post says it's at 9, and was updated 1 minute before the post that says it's 11.

If it is at 11, IMHO this isn't working. The event was moved to 11 for Mucky but he never shows up. Ricky forgot the event entirely two Sundays ago, and apparently this last Sunday but I was too tired to bother reminding him, and the only other person on Bnet besides me was an AFK billtheemu.

I think someone had to give up on the event because of having to get up the next morning. Having it this late increases the chance that everyone else will forget it.

Please consider either making it earlier or suspending it until there's some real interest. It's frustrating to wait around and often stay up longer than I would otherwise when the event doesn't even happen.

I am not even sure I remember changing it to 9 pm in all honesty.

However, I truly did lose interest in SS after FFS seems reasonably solid and university started again for me.

So considering so few are still honestly interested in SS and I forgot it twice, I will suspend SS. We will see in the future if we will reanimate SS or have some occasional one-time SS events and such.

As of January 7, 2012, SS restarted yet again but only every second Saturday at 9 PM GMT-5 (Eastern Time).

See event dates.

As a side note, I will likely post Youtube videos at my channel. I will likely end up not post replays this time or only in big batches when I care.

Everyone patch their Warcraft 3's. Last few updates included nerfs and fixes, less desyncs now :)

Back then during SS, the maps we played concretely were :

- The Great Strategy, a specific modified version mostly modified by Mucky.
- Bships (sometimes : the old original version, crossfire, my modified version, Mesk's modified version etc.)
- Cockfighting Arena (Made by Mucky), not sure if it works with the latest TFT version.
- Castle Fight
- Advent of Zenith
- Desert of the Exile
- Map Tong Hop (very silly Chinese map with Anime characters and such)
- Pictionnary
- Enfos
- Rabbits vs Sheep
- Footmen Frenzy
- Footmen vs Grunts (usually the SentryIII's version)

Sometimes :

- Arcade Fighter (Kind of incomplete, by Milldawg)
- Empire Clash (Some kind of SC1 Team Melee-like made by myself except the terrain)
- Glaive Masters
- Power Towers

... probably still missing quite a couple. I usually host the games during the event and I still got all the maps we played before SS (War3) was put aside completely in favor of FFS (SC2).
