Re: Satyr Saturday Replays Week 71 and up
To be honest, I'm surprised I don't see divine shield more often because it's just an extremely strong ability. The really limiting factor is the skill slots, but when you're cheesing you really only need 3 or so abilities to be really annoying.
Perhaps giving the castle the sleep ability in itself could also help? I am not sure if they normally use it, but you could probably make it autocast onto heroes and be somewhat short ranged.

Re: Satyr Saturday Replays Week 71 and up
I've made the castles repairable. 300 gold/360 seconds per worker. Also normalized the repair cost/time for all of the lane buildings, so it's 100 gold/120 seconds for all of those. Regular towers are 100 gold/60 seconds.
While I'm at it, I removed the lumber costs from all of the special towers. They're significantly less expensive now.

Nothing. Steak didn't ruin that game; you guys threw it by not bothering to get sleep until it was too late to make a difference.Xenon wrote:So, what do we do about this, alongside making the castle repairable?

We didn't get sleep because it takes level 10 for the duration to match the cooldown, and the player with sleep would need to stay at the base full-time anyway. Trying to slow Steak down partially does no good when you can't repair the damn castle. It requires sleep AND silence to have any chance of preventing his escape with Blink, and that's if he doesn't blink before the Divine Shield wears off.
Did everyone on your team have Blink? I think it deserves a range nerf at this rate.

Re: Satyr Saturday Replays Week 71 and up
What I mean is, Steak popping Divine Shield the first time should have been your cue to start leveling Sleep right then and there. That way, by the time he decides to start hitting your castle, you would've already had level 10 Sleep, and you would've been fine. This is like waiting until somebody has level 10 Mana Shield before finally getting Feedback or Siphon Mana and then bitching that it doesn't help because it's too low level. That's not how the map works.
That said, yes, he could still force a win through attrition simply because the castle couldn't be repaired. That part is getting fixed.

For reference, here's a video where the events above happened from my perspective.

That game was an hour and a half? It really didn't feel that long...

Death and Decay isn't supposed to work on the town hall, it only worked with the Ancient flag removed from the town hall. Tauren and summons also have that flag, allowing staff teleports to them, and making them immune to D&D and Incinerate which is stupid. I don't know if there's a reason they have that flag, maybe so Mass Teleport won't work on summons or something.

Some minor modifications to TGS:
Added debug commands for single player mode. Should make it easier to balance test waves.
Reduced lumber buying cooldown from 2 to 1, no point in having to wait there.
The Anchor Man's passive no longer works with Mirror Image. It's pretty strong as is.
Passive Buster now disables Feedback.
Cleaned up some of the Tinker and DR ability arrangement on the shop.
The repair time on the human castle was 180, changed it to 360 like the orc castle.
Healing Spray stocks 3 now.
When was the last time we got the indestructible Phoenix bug? Someone pointed it out on a video where he got it in a melee game. It was webbed and inferno'd, and ran out of health while stunned, but I can't reproduce it. It just turns into an egg after the stun wears off. Maybe Blizzard actually fixed it.

A little late to the races but better late than never , I'm a former BS Crossfire player who hopes to hook up with like minded old gamers. Is battlenet still hosting ? and if so are members still playing. A former battleship Junkie trying to rekindle this amazing old mod of a game - I would have played under Seamuse , Goldfish or Aardvark1.... Help out an old gamer ... GoldfishAA@gmail.com

Yes, they still play every second saturday. Though the maps they pick tend to be random, I'm sure you can convince them to fire up battleships.

Unfortunately, due to recent patches our Battleships Crossfire games keep getting killed by desyncs.
