Re: Warcraft 3 campaigns
I found this campaign the other day called Birth of Shadows v2.16 - not sure if anyone has already seen it - you can find it at:
http://www.fileplanet.com/148603/140000 ... of-Shadows
It is quite a big download as it contains lots of speech - seems pretty good so far but i've only played it breifly.

No, you need to wait like 30 minutes to download from Fileplanet with their free account, just as bad basically.

Re: Warcraft 3 campaigns
I managed to download birth of shadows... The cinematic looked really promising and I thought the gameplay would be similar, I was wrong.
It is still a very good campaign in Rexxar style RPG. It can get pretty boring at times but adding the casino was a great idea. Overall, it's recommended but way too short.
Good voice acting is a plus.

Re: Warcraft 3 campaigns
The Black Company has altered melee and an awesome story. Most of the other campaigns are based on killing creeps and things like that, I recommend any of Med Map Guy's stuff and the two campaigns based on Warcraft novels (Day of the Dragon and Lord of the Clans).
I still have to try some of the campaigns listed in the first page...

I'm starting to consider trying my hand at editing other peoples' campaigns without their permission (let's face it, some of these people don't even have a useful contact anymore)

That one doesn't deserve to be saved, and besides, it was made before TFT.tipereth wrote:Rise of Krill.RazorclawX wrote: I'm starting to consider trying my hand at editing other peoples' campaigns without their permission (let's face it, some of these people don't even have a useful contact anymore)

Re: Warcraft 3 campaigns
In these times, I believe less people care that their campaigns/maps get edited compared to before (or at least my feelings about it if I am sorely mistaken).RazorclawX wrote: I'm starting to consider trying my hand at editing other peoples' campaigns without their permission (let's face it, some of these people don't even have a useful contact anymore)
From what I noticed, it seems people only truly care if 1) said edited work claims to be the original 2) it's a horrible edit (which can give bad publicity to the original one if the players have no clue about the original). 3) it's too brand new (which an editor is much more likely to steal the full credit from the real author).
Ultimately, the maps/campaigns aren't commercial and usually the author already "cashed" in the reputation.
So yeah.

Re: Warcraft 3 campaigns
May I suggest that you change the link of VGsatomi's Return of Alisia Dragoon to redirect to the Hive Workshop? The link is: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/maps-564/return-of-alisia-dragoon-80729/
Thanks in advance.
It was a good idea to make a thread like this.

They also don't deserve to be mentioned.RazorclawX wrote:That one doesn't deserve to be saved, and besides, it was made before TFT.tipereth wrote:Rise of Krill.RazorclawX wrote: I'm starting to consider trying my hand at editing other peoples' campaigns without their permission (let's face it, some of these people don't even have a useful contact anymore)

Re: Warcraft 3 campaigns
So far I've edited a short campaign called 'Lament' which is pretty obscure. Haven't bothered to upload it yet.
