World of Warcraft Cataclysm

Post by RazorclawX »

Within a week or two the whole of the World of Warcraft changes forever. At first I was met with apprehension at the thought that the world which I leveled many characters through will vanish, but now that the long months is nearly at its end I'm ready to see the world destroyed.

It's time for Jay Leno to take his rightful place as the new ruler of Azeroth.

For some reason, I really wanna try this out. Which is weird, because I think WoW is terrible. O.o Maybe it'll be cooler since you're not fighting the lich king anymore?

Also, you need each WoW expansion installed on your comp for the next one to work? Jeez, how much space has been taken up for these last 3? Like 30 gigs? :O

16 gigs, actually, minus whatever small amount the expansion adds, a gig or two. I just did a fresh install on a computer so I get to see the total number. Surprising how fast it downloaded and installed.

Keep in mind the world overall looks better solely due to textures. If they were interesting upping the believability of the world, they'd just have to add normal maps, which I'm not sure why they don't. Aside that- it still plays and feels like old world, just a few knick-knack cooler things.

I'm sure if they tried, they would have to rewrite the memory management again.

Worth it, in my view, but I have a thing for normals.

With the way Blizzard handled memory last time? You're going to crash twice as much as I used to before.

It would be worth it if they could do it right but I doubt they'll even consider it at this point.
