VotF Firegraft

I am aware after some searching that something like this was attempted a few years ago by some guy named Xerlick or something, but as all of his download links are broken and I probably have slightly different ideas than he did I'm gonna try this myself anyway.
As should be obvious by the title, I am attempting to convert the Vision of the Future campaigns, my personal favorites out of the entire SC modding community, into updated Firegraft forms. I've already accomplished this with Vision 1-4, doing things like giving Xaax and Strassenberg complete button sets, giving the correct abilities to units like the Nemesis and Marauder (although I suspect I may have gotten that one wrong since the story functionality of it is slightly unclear; I think it's supposed to have Recall and be a transport), removing abilities that really don't make sense (for example, Shampoo's Consume), and making more units buildable in Vision 4 such as Protoss units from the previously useless Gateway and Stargate and Infested Ghosts from the ICC.
However, when I reached Vision 5, Zeji-Mekani Conversion, I hit a snag. The Firegraft simply would not work. I set everything up exactly as before, and I was able to run the .exe as a Firegraft program and have the actual mod work in essence, but all the changes, including simple things like standard button sets on units like the Zeji Observer and Manta so I know it's not just because I did something wrong, didn't show up. Obviously, some property of the total conversion is keeping it locked in a Brood War patch from before Firegraft, but I can't figure out what it is, and the other restrictions that the mpq has placed on me are also odd. I am able to edit the .dat and files within the mod, but I can't delete any of its files, and I can't add music\ or Firegraft files.
Any ideas? If it helps, I'm using 1.15 since 1.15.1 didn't work for me with Firegraft for some reason and I'm too lazy to find the 1.16.1 Firegraft update.
