"Hmmm, unannounced visitors. Preparations must be made."

Moroes serves as the steward of the tower of Karazhan, and served as Medivh's personal servant while he occupied the tower. Moroes was killed by Medivh when he was utterly consumed by madness, and was buried at Morgan's Plot alongside his master by Khadgar. Moroes, however, did not remain there for long, and eventually found himself back in the tower, performing his old duties, surrounded by ghostly echoes of previous occupants and visitors.

He did not like uninvited guests, and was often quite hostile to them. Even more when ten of them appeared together. He was likely killed by adventurers many times, but despite each death, Moroes would find himself restored once more.

Moroes, unlike many of Karazhan's other undead residents, is quite aware of his condition, and now seeks a means to permanently end his existence. He even once went so far as to travel to alternate past Draenor, where he visited and cleaned the Commander's inn. While unsuccessful, he did find a horribly acidic solution that would be useful for cleaning up scuff marks and blood stains left by adventures in Karazhan.

He has two core ragers that he now uses as pets. For this affront he has earned Magmadar's eternal and unwavering ire.

Golemagg the Incinerator was a molten giant in the service of Ragnaros. He keeps a pair of core hounds as pets. He acted as a guardian in the Molten Core, helping to defend Majordomo Executus and Ragnaros. He was, however, killed by adventurers while doing so.

Greenskin is the leader of a mercenary pirate crew employed by the Defias Brotherhood.

Captain Greenskin was a mercenary pirate employed by the Defias Brotherhood to command the Second War-era Ogre Juggernaut they were in the process of refurbishing deep within the Deadmines. Greenskin was killed by adventurers when they stormed the Deadmines in search of Edwin Van Cleef.

After his death, his former ship's cook, the murloc, Cookie, claimed his position as captain. It seems likely, however, that Cookie would have served as captain in name only, and that Admiral Ripsnarl would have actually commanded the vessel had it gone to sea.

Oh god, that picture is Exhibit A for why the Cata Goblin models were so good.

Yeah, the new goblin models were just a little bit of an improvement over the classic ones.

"Ba'anthalso-dorei!"

Warlord Kalithresh was one of Lady Vashj's warriors and commanders. While Hydromancer Thespia and Mekgineer Steamrigger were in charge of the Steamvault's day-to-day operations, Kalithresh oversaw its defences. He was also given an experimental Naga Distiller, a device which could dispense a power enhancing liquid for him. It was like having a water cooler full of Mountain Dew.

Ultimately, Warlord Kalithresh failed in his duties, and was killed by adventurers.

Confined for millenia to serve as a source of power for the Shen'dralar, it hungers for freedom.

Immol'thar was a void terror summoned by the Highbourne night elves living in Edre'thalas following the end of the War of the Ancients, the destruction of the Well of Eternity, and The Shattering of ancient Kalimdor. Prince Tortheldrin saw Immol'thar as a means of maintaining the quality of life his people were accustom to prior to the Sundering. With Immol'thar's power, they were able to power their magic, and maintain their immortality, as the other night elves had done through the blessings of Nordrassil.

While everything seemed to be going quite well for a few centuries, the power maintaining the pylons that syphoned Immol'thar's power and kept him imprisoned began to weaken. Prince Tortheldrin realized that his people were drawing on too much power from the demon. As a result, the prince decided that his only course of action was to cull the population of Edre'thalas. With a smaller population drawing on Immol'thar's power, and the bindings reinforced by the sacrifice of those culled, they would be able to maintain their power and immorality indefinitely.

Immol'thar remained imprisoned for another ten thousand years, and was eventually freed by adventurers when they stormed the ruins of Edre'thalas, now known as Dire Maul, and disabled the magic pylons that kept the demon imprisoned. Immol'thar was destroyed by adventurers, and banished back to the Twisting Nether. Warlocks later made use of Immol'thar's summoning chamber to summon and bind dreadsteeds for themselves.

"You'll be sorry!"

Blackheart the Inciter was an ogre mage, warlock, and member of the Shadow Council. He and the orc warlock, Vorpil, had been sent by Gul'dan to investigate the ruins of Auchindoun, and then seem to have been completely forgotten about by the rest of the Shadow Council. Left to their own devices, Blackheart and Vorpil continued their research into dark magic, often using the draenei spirits within Auchindoun as test subjects.

Blackheart was killed by adventurers when they stormed the Shadow Labyrinth.

The Legion will rise! Draenor will be bathed in hellfire!

Blackheart's alternate past self, O'mogg Blackheart had yet to earn the title of 'the Inciter'. He also only has one head, possibly having been granted a second by Gul'dan's efforts to create more ogre mages during the Second War, or maybe someone forget that he was a two-headed ogre in Burning Crusade. We may never know, because this Blackheart was killed by adventurers who aided in the defence of Auchidoun against the Shadow Council and Burning Legion forces attacking it.

Cry for mercy! Your meaningless lives will soon be forfeit!

Kaz'rogal was a doomguard in the service of Archimonde. He aided his master in the siege of Mount Hyjal, where he was defeated by Thrall.

Adventurers encountered Kaz'rogal when they travelled back in time to the Battle of Mount Hyjal, where they helped Thrall and the joint forces of the Alliance, Horde and Sentinels to destroy him.

Kaz'rogal, Anetheron, and Azgalor are in the new Hellfire Citadel raid, too. They retain all their abilities, they fight as one pull, but they aren't a boss; they're Archimonde's "trash".

Which means it's hilarious when your people are dropping because Azgalor is killing everyone with Doom.

One of my favourite parts of Warlords of Draenor has been the callbacks and alternate past incarnations of old characters. Good to see those three made it in too.

"Be silent! Do you think our plagued dragons will hatch and train themselves?"

Vectus was a skeletal mage in the service of the Scourge. He taught necromancy to the students of Scholomance, and was responsible for the creation of the Plagued Dragonflight, a breed of zombie-like dragons to serve the Scourge. To that end, he employed the goblin, Tinkee Steamboil to steal dragon eggs for his experiments. Tinkee, however, was ignorant of Vectus' true nature, and his plans for the dragon eggs she provided him with. As a result, agents of the Argent dawn were able to intercept his egg deliveries.

Vectus, and his plagued dragonflight, were ultimately destroyed by agents of the Argent Dawn.

"I'm going to rip you limb from limb, soft-skin!"

Overlord Wyrmthalak was a black dragonspawn, and served under General Drakkisath's command. He was tasked with overseeing the armies in Lower Blackrock Spire, specifically those of the Dark Horde. He had no love for the orcs or their allies, and merely tolerated their presence, so long as they remained useful to his master, Nefarian, in their battle for control of Blackrock Mountain.

The Overlord was killed by adventurers when they stormed Blackrock Spire.

"I have such fascinating things to show you."

Nexus-Prince Shaffar was an ethereal Nexus-Prince, merchant, antiquarian, and leader of his own faction of ethereals. Shaffar was convinced that a great treasure was hidden in the ruins of Auchindoun, and to that end used his vast wealth to fund an expedition into the depths of the draenei necropolis. He also established friendly trade relations with Outland's ruler, Lord Illidan. Even though Illidan had given him a pet voidhound, Yor, as a gift, Shaffar remained suspicious of Illidan, suspecting that the demonic night elf might one day turn on him. Although Shaffar seemed to have little interest in Outland beyond the Mana-Tombs where he had set up shop, his rivals at the Consortium saw his presence in Outland as a threat to their own interests in the region.

[bbvideo=560,315]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHtH2x8CfF0[/bbvideo]
"An epic battle! How exciting!"

As a result, Shaffar established considerable defences for himself, including a barrier which prevented other ethereals from entering; Pandimonius, a voidwraith bound to his service; and Tavarok a crystal giant who'd just wandered in one day. Unfortunately for Shaffar, the Consortium, unable to bypass his first line of defence, opted to employ organic adventurers who could. They then proceeded to storm his lair, kill him, and his minions. Whatever treasure he was looking for in the Mana-Tombs, be it real or imagined, remained lost.

He was voiced by Cam Clarke.

Those fishing for a lurker in Vashj's lair often get the Lurker instead.

The Lurker Below was a kraken who lived in the Serpentshine Cavern. He seemed happy to keep to his own devices, and would only attack if someone tried to fish him out of his lair.

He's not just a cook.

Cookie was a murloc cook in the service of the Defias Brotherhood. He was ship's cook for the ogre juggernaut the Defias Brotherhood was in the process of refurbishing. He was presumed dead when adventurers attacked the Defias juggernaut and killed its crew. However, Cookie was able to survive the massacre. With the deaths of Edwin VanCleef and Captain Greenskin, Cookie declared himself captain of the Defias juggernaut.

Image

”Captain” Cookie managed to retain his position following Vanessa VanCleef's reformation of the Defias Brotherhood, although it seems likely he's simply a figurehead, with Admiral Ripsnarl serving as the ship's true commander. His position as ship's cook, however, remains undisputed.

When adventurers returned to the Deadmines, hoping to bring Vanessa and the reformed Defias Brotherhood to justice, Cookie served as a decoy for Vanessa. He hid in the shadows where Vanessa was expected to be, and launched a deadly ambush on adventurers. Sadly, the ambush was mostly just deadly to him. Despite all his skill in cooking, Cookie couldn't fill the adventurers' insatiable hunger for death.

"Gronn are the real power in Outland!"

High King Maulgar was the high king of the ogres in the Blade's Edge Mountains. Born an ogre lord, Maulgar displayed many physical traits similar to those of the ogre's gronn ancestors. As a result, Maulgar was considerably stronger and hardier than his brethren. However, he was born to the Bladespire clan, which, at the time of his birth, had fallen on hard times. Having lost much of their strength and holdings in the destruction of Draenor, the Bladespire were considerably weaker than their rival clans, the Boulderfist and Bloodmaul. Maulgar's birth threaten to change the balance of power considerably.

As the ogre lord grew up, he used his strength to help his clan and elevate their position. This eventually gained himself the attention of the ogre high king. Demanding a demonstration of his strength, Maulgar snapped the old high king's neck, and became high king himself. Gruul the Dragonkiller approved of Maulgar's methods, and made him his right hand servant. Maulgar now makes his home in Gruul's lair, and the Bladespire Clan has achieved dominance over all other ogre clans in the Blade's Edge Mountains.

This, however, all came crashing down when a new group of adventurers arrived in Outland, and upset the balance of power between the ogre clans in the Blade's Edge Mountains. His position as High King was undermined when the ogre clans declare a non-ogre adventurer as their new monarch, and then twenty-five adventurers stormed Gruul's lair, killing him and his gronn master.
