Had an…interesting scenario on my drive today when I went to pick up my mom from work.
She finishes somewhere in the afternoon, and that I should head out 10 minutes before. I had an alarm on my phone in the meantime as a sort of reminder for that, although the track in question may feel…astoundingly appropriate for the situation.

See, I figured I’d head up earlier than that so I could get a couple groceries from the place. It’s a Walmart. But as I started nearing the spot I intended to park at, my phone’s alarm mentioned earlier went off (including “Nyeh Heh Heh!” playing as the ringtone).
After setting the car in park and tending to the gone-off alarm, I check and notice the car is slightly crooked parking-wise. Not wanting mom to nag at me for that slight goof – or heck, even talking about it for even 5 seconds – I turn the car back on intending to correct the aforementioned parking.
What happened next was…well, nothing short of comical.
For one, the car’s wheels locked and I wasn’t able to turn the car to fix the parking attempt I did. The car rolled out onto part of the road for the spot, but thankfully there wasn’t anyone else coming into the area (it’s a parking space situated between the Walmart and Canadian Tire). Fun fact: I found myself…baffled and annoyed.
Fortunately, there was no high-volume swearing.
Two, I figured out an idea around this. Setting the car back in Neutral, I quickly slipped out and got behind the car and pushed it back into the spot. Then I quickly scooted back to the driver’s seat and set the car to park.
Seeing as I was there to pick up mom and grab some stuff anyways, I did so. Once the stuff was paid for and in the car, I tried fiddling with the steering wheel.
Which…leads…straight….into…three.
The wheel locked.
I was sitting there thinking “are you kidding me!?” after this last little bit happened.
Thankfully, mom got there to help sort this out.
Long story short…or summarized, rather: That went well.
