Rear Admiral Kun Zhou (Portrayed by Ed Mace)
  » Unit: Unknown

BIO:  Born on the colony of Procyon, Zhou could have been pegged as a career officer by the time he took his first breath after birth. Upon graduating from the University of Del Mar, Zhou fulfilled the two year enlistment requirement in the United Military Command (As was required of all Confederation citizens) and applied for Officer's Training School the day after the second year ended.

Zhou, while not having a particularly keen strategic or tactical mind, has proven himself to highly effective in executing mission assignments drafted by his superiors. Being a perfectionist (or obsessive-compulsive according to some scuttlebutt), Zhou dwells extensively upon details and the punctuality of his subordinates in completing tasks on and off mission. During a planetary terraforming expedition, Zhou instructed his subordinates to return to his ship for a debriefing after one of the civilian contractors was injured. Due to atmospheric interference, the wireless transmissions were garbled, requiring soldiers on the ground to request Admiral Zhou to repeat his orders. Having asked three times for his troops to return, Zhou grew frustrated and shouted into the com, "This is Zhou, come back now! Right now!"

This earned the admiral the nickname "Right Now Zhou" among enlisted troops across the Confederation as word of the incident spread. In addition, a popular colloquialism within the military which later carried to the civilian realm and became recognized as slang was "Now Zhou" which indicated urgency in a request. For example, a manager might ask a subordinate to provide a report and add that he/she needed it "Now Zhou" indicating in a hurry.

In spite of the running joke, no soldier questions that Zhou knows how to keep his divisions in line and that ships assigned to his task force are among the most combat ready in the fleet. Admiral Ra'Chek immediately recognized his skills in strategic execution and combat readiness and recruited Zhou as the frontline theatre commander during the Zerg War.
