BIO: Having been discharged from his two years of mandatory service in the UMC (United Military Command) as well as jobs in local law enforcement, corporate security, and as a marshal in the ITC (Interstellar Transit Commission), Tripp eventually found his niche in the UMC after the start of the Zerg War. Initially rejected by the UMC when he applied at the outset of the war, Tripp applied again once the Interplanetary Draft was instituted by Congress a year later. Due to prior training with firearms and his record for brutality (which earned him his prior discharges), the UMC recruiters approved his re-entry. Channeled against the Zerg, Tripp's brutal sadism has earned him the respect of his fellow soldiers and has also garnered him commendations and medals by the handful. Tripp revels not only in killing Zerg, but also wounding them. For example, after an engagement was won, he and his squad would return to a wounded Zerg on the battlefield to ceremoniously and slowly execute the creature. Tripp's commanding officer (CO), while content to accept praise for Tripp's outstanding results in mission assignments, expressed concern that if and when the Sergeant was ever turned loose on people instead of aliens, he would be unable to restrain himself having been free to maim and torture the Zerg for several years. The CO reassigned Tripp to non-combat duties. Admiral Ra'Chek intervened and returned Tripp to combat duty, stating that in a war against an enemy with no mercy, ConFed's soldiers needed to be merciless themselves. Tripp was later reassigned to the CFS Rigid Express under Captain James Guthrey. Tripp was born in Naochis Terra on Mars and spent most of his teenage years in and out of juvenile detention centers due to blatant disregard for authority and his consistent involvement in brawls both in and out of school. Tripp failed to graduate from the Technical and Preparatory School (TAP) and immediately enlisted in the UMC to fulfill the two year requirement. After the first year, he intentionally injured and nearly killed one of his classmates during a training exercise, was swiftly court martialed and was then dishonorably discharged. |
