Ok, in this, I am going to teach you how to compile GRP's with the Camelot Systems program, Stardraft. (http://www.camsys.org)
Step 1: Preparing the Frames
First, you should get the demo for Paint Shop Pro. (http://www.jasc.com) Then, open the program after its downloaded, and open a a normal Starcraft unit's frame. Under Colors, find Save Pallette. Close the file wihout saving (if it prompts you), and then open all of the frames you are using for the modified or new unit. Under Colors, find Load Pallette. The colors might be a little distorted, but you have to if you want to use the frames.
Step 2: Preparing the Initiative
If you have ever exported frames from a cwd, then there was an ini file, standing for initiative. The name of it should be the same as the folder that all of your frames are in; we will call ours 'Marine' There are 4 things in Marine.ini you need to change. The first 2 should stay at 0, but the next ones are important. FrameCount is the amount of bmp's in your Marine folder. Image base is the prefix to the number that you used in your frames, if you exported them, and just changed them, it should be 'img'. MaxWidth is the width of the frames. MaxHeight is the height of the frames. Then you can save the initiative, and you are ready to compile.
Step 3: Compiling
Okay, now you need Stardraft (http://www.camsys.org). Once its downloaded (if you needed to download it), open it. Go into the CWAD Manager, and press Okay. Then either open a Cwad, or make a new one. Then you can either go into the Standard tab or under Options you can go to GRP Converter. Then go into Import Frames, and find the initiative you edited. If you did everything right, then it will prompt you with a text box, and then you have to enter the location of the GRP within the MPQ. If you did everything right, then you should be set to go!
Have fun making GRP's!
