PROFESSIONAL CAMPAIGN: INTRO
Ever wanted to make your campaign just like Blizzards? You know, like where the player selects your "episodes" from the normal campaign selection screen with Artanis, Stukov, and Kerrigan (or whatever you would like to change them to). Your custom maps, sounds, movies, everything -- even music. Well, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise to you that -- with a lot of work -- it is very much possible just with the tools that Stardraft has provided us with (though it will take a little more ingenuity to accomplish the entire task than a simple Self Extracting CWAD with all your stuff in it).
O.K., now, to cover everything, this article is going to be huge, so it is very likely that I will simply skip over some of the "basics" that I assume most people already know about. I.E., you must know how to use the cwad manager, import files from the MPQ, know where most of the files are in the MPQ, etc. Basic stuff.
Without further ado, here is what is article contains. I'll try to make each section stand alone so you don't have to read all of it, but no promises.
- All about Splash Screens
- Custom Maps in Campaign Places
- Map Sounds and Custom Music
- Movies, Movies, Movies
- The Details: Campaign Selection Graphics, Mission Names, and More
Notice: While I can't think of anything in this article that is extremely misleading or false, I just want to place a disclaimer here stating that it has not been updated since when it was first written (Aug 99) and will not be further. See the SCEB if you need to cross reference specifications.
