ARSENAL II TUTORIAL - UNITS EDITOR - STAREDIT

This is the StarEdit tab of the unit editor. I have delineated each field with a different red number. An explanation of each field is below:
30 - Staredit availability [pull down menu]: This value determines whether or not Staredit will allow you to "place" the unit on maps you make. Generally, this property is for hard-core map makers who want to place some of the "unused" units that Staredit doesn't normally allow you to place. A No value means it can not be placed. A Yes value means it can be placed and tells Staredit which directory to put it in. If you mess with it a little, it should become pretty self-explanatory. For more information, see my Advanced DAT spec sheet for General and Advanced values.
31 - Group [pull down menu]: This value tells Starcraft what "group" of units to put the unit into (race/men/building/etc.). This determines what directory it is put into in StarEdit, among other things. For a better understanding of what the property does, read my Advanced DAT spec sheet for General & Advanced Properties.
32 - Sublabel [number box]: This value mainly tells what order to put units into in each Staredit directory. Units with lower values are closer to the top. For example, the marine is the first on the Terran Ground Unit list in staredit because it has the lowest sublabel value (2). This value also tells Starcraft what text to place under some units' names. For example, on Terran units, the value delineates the unit's rank. For the Hero Battle Cruisers and Carriers, it delineates the pilot's name (like Raynor on the Hyperion). You may be wondering why it is a number instead of the text that is shown in the game. Well, the actual text of the ranks and other sublabels are in another file, each in its own line. This value just tells Starcraft which line to associate to this unit. [I do not have a full list of the subunit values and their actual text. To change them, I suggest finding a unit originally with the rank or name you want, and then copying their subunit value to the one you wish to change.]
