Though Skylanders might appear as just a casual kids game to the more hardcore types, that hasn't stopped the team from throwing some impressive talent at the game/toy hybrid. Writers Joel Cohen (not Coen) and Alec Sokolow (the scriptwriters of Toy Story) are helming the story for Skylanders, while famed film composer Hans Zimmer (who's composed scores for everything from The Dark Knight to The Lion King) is handling the music in the game.
So, from the looks of it, Activision decided to make a second reboot to the Spyro series. Interestingly enough it supposedly integrates special "toys" with it alongside some dimension portal mat that you put said toys on which hooks up to the game itself. Additionally, the individual toys also save anything you've achieved (i.e. experience and gold).
Personally it seems like a neat idea, what with the individual toys actually carrying the saved data. My only question is can we trust Activision and Toys for Bob to not turn this into Digimon on crack?
