I skipped Fallen Angel in order to avoid getting sued by both Blizzard and The Oracle.

T_T I always thought you guys were like a partnership, and Desler just represented Oracle since he never shows up.

I mentioned that I am the founder twice today. If I mention it three times, Lavarinth sends me a free set of steak knives.

I think I'm the only person here who doesn't recognize the portrait much less the name and thus is completely confused in this thread all the way to the point where Frenchies pop out of eggs and eat people's hair.

Re: Rond is in StarCraft 2!!!
Even though he has what could be the worst protoss name in successful fan-crafted SC publications, Rond is the best known protoss templar in this community. He starred in Desler's Fall From Grace mini-campaign and later in Celestial Irruption. What made him popular was probably his down-to-earth approach to total annihilation and armageddon kind of situations. That made him very unlike the overly serious and poetic protoss characters Auspex and imitators brought us. Rond was the protoss templar we could all relate to. He had very much a human soul, and as lonely kids in the 90s, we quickly grew extremely fond of Rond.IskatuMesk wrote: I think I'm the only person here who doesn't recognize the portrait much less the name and thus is completely confused in this thread all the way to the point where Frenchies pop out of eggs and eat people's hair.
His drawn-out, wearied tones were provided by the infamous voice actor Joel Steudler, who also crafted the portrait. Apparently, Starcraft 2 includes a protoss portrait that resembles one of Rond's incarnations, and this is what Desler wanted to point out.
When I saw this thread title, I almost pooped myself, because I was expecting some sort of new, exciting, revitalizing project by Desler the Great... but alas.

Yeah right. The door to the past is closed. Those characters aren't being brought back ever no matter how awesome you think they were. Trust me, its for the best.

I know, you've said it before. Hoping against hopes, however, has always been my game.Desler wrote: Yeah right. The door to the past is closed. Those characters aren't being brought back ever no matter how awesome you think they were. Trust me, its for the best.
The Sweet Science, which I played a couple of times, holds the promise of something as cool as those early works. I really digged the story-driven, almost audioplay-like vibe it had as opposed to just killing just ANOTHER bunch of zerg marauders.
Give that shit to us again when SC2 hits.

For CC yeah, but I meant the LotC thingy. Wasn't it a trio of you, Oracle, and Joel? I figured you were the face and mascot, Joel was the quiet guy, and oracle is mysterious :< Or was that Gallantry? But that had Magic in it. I don't know I'm getting confused. Everyone was in a groupie besides RCX doing his own thang.Desler wrote:I'm the -founder- of this web site. Re: Rond is in StarCraft 2!!!
Me and Oracle have never once worked on a project together. Oracle did use Rond and Dorasida in LOTC, but asked for permission. I wouldn't be opposed to working with him mind you, but we have always each had our own seperate projects going on, and I doubt either one of us would stop working on them to collaborate on something entirely new. We're both writers, directors, map makers. We each have our recipes. Two cooks working on the same meal usually will result in one cook using his recipe, and the other assisting. Neither of us would be happy assisting. I mean, I would if I had absolutely nothing else to do, it might be fun. But I have far too many of my own ideas to give me enough time to help another person like that. Doesn't look like we'll ever work together, I'm going to be far too busy with CR, and he's already put considerable resources and work into his SC2 LOTC project.

Re: Rond is in StarCraft 2!!!
^ Exactly why I solo my projects except for outsourcing jobs. Not that I'll ever make a campaign or anything (even though I did attempt it many times in wc3), but the same idea applies to mods.
As you may have guessed I don't even play other people's mods or campaigns.
