BlizzCon 2008 Ticket Drawing Update

Post by Lavarinth »

Continuing the current updates with Blizzard's recent BlizzCon Ticket issues, here's a reminder for you all: Blizzard's own Co-Founder and President, Mike Morhaime, released a statement on August 13th, detailing an apology to hopeful BlizzCon attendees and offering an additional 3,000 more tickets for sale via lottery to those with a Blizzard Account before the official Sold Out sign was placed. Here's the most recent update, released August 15th, detailing what exactly is a Blizzard Account and how many tickets per winner can be purchased.

We recently announced that we will be offering 3,000 more BlizzCon 2008 tickets for sale via a drawing. Soon, eligible Blizzard Account holders who created accounts prior to 9:00 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 will be able to opt in for a chance to purchase up to two tickets to the show. We're aware that many players are waiting for this drawing, and we appreciate your continued patience as we finalize the details. We'll have more information to share here and on our other websites early next week.

Please note that a Blizzard Account is an account created for the Blizzard Online Store -- as opposed to an account created for a Blizzard game, such as World of Warcraft. If you have any questions regarding Blizzard Accounts, please read our Blizzard Account FAQ.

This, incase some of you missed it, should technically specify that out of those 3,000 tickets, a max of 1,500 people will be chosen for the lottery. Granted not all will be looking to purchase two tickets, and there is a possibility that some may not end up purchasing their tickets as well (what happens in this case is unknown), however, it's a good indication they at least attempted to give a "little something extra" to those who couldn't.

Here's to all those in the "race" for the lottery. Good luck.
