Oh, man. I miss Netscape. It was so much better than all the nonsense browsers we have today. I was ecstatic when I found the old Mozilla browser, which started as Netscape's spiritual successor, but then they abandoned that in favour of their IE-like Firefox browser.

I was probably wrong when I said that IE was the only net browser. Yes, there was Netscape, IE, Firefox even and I think NetZero was even a part of it before they faded away. Right?

No, Firefox was released in 2002 and had originally been developed from Netscape, after Microsoft ran Netscape out of business ("We'll cut off their air supply." - Microsoft exec). Netscape Communications made their source code open-source in 1998, essentially giving it over to Mozilla, which was founded by (gasp!) former Netscape employees. It's kind of a sweet tale of revenge, what with how Firefox went on to obliterate IE's marketshare dominance.

Oh, you're right! my bad, I should've said Opera, that's been around since 1996. Hell, I am using it right now.

Huh, I never knew that. I thought Netscape just vanished and then Firefox came out of nowhere.

Also BBS were great, I bet there are still some old ones I used to visit out there now, still active.

Yes, it's a true story. :)

Also, there probably are some old sites out there that still work despite their age.
