SCMDraft2 crashes when trying to open locations tab.

This is weird, but I'll probably have to hexedit my map to fix this. If there's a letter "z" in any location name, SCMDraft crashes when trying to open locations tab. Tried deleting autosave files/backup files/reinstalling/using different versions of SCMDraft. Wat do?

I don't have this problem nor have I ever heard of it nor encountered it.

Make sure you have the most recent version of SCMDraft, located here.

Go into the strings tab and remove the offending characters if necessary.

Strings tab crashes too. I usually do SC related stuff on WinXP, opened map on win 8 and it works fine.

Try running it on an XP virtual machine if you have one. I doubt it's the OS, it's probably your installation of StarCraft or installation of SCMDraft.

I'm using VBox with Win XP. Starcraft and modding tools are placed in a shared folder so I'm basically using the same installation of SCMDraft and SC on both systems. Wierd.

See if you can find another 3rd party map editor that can open your map files with the SCMDraft2 changes. Fix the string problems, and try to open with SCMDraft2 again.

SCMDraft2 can be extremely unstable and buggy from time to time. Worse yet, it seems to behave very differently from computers to computers.

For example one person can use just fine and another can stumble upon a heaps of problems out of the blue. It is better off in the long run to use other alternatives even with the limitations.

It's fine, I'll do my mapmaking stuff on 8.1. Any editor other than SCMDraft would completely destroy the map since it has like 2500 misplaced doodads.
