The thing that bothers me about all of this is that players think that this is all of Blizzard moving against them when this is really the determination of two guys out of the whole company that were told to figure out what to do. A strong support team of even 20-40 people that can stay on top of the community, competitions, and hacks would probably extend Starcraft 1's retail sales (and life) for another several years.

The only thing thats going to come out of Blizzard trying to get a death grip on SC1 is tanking it entirely if/when they get control to only leave it in someone elses hands giving them a monetary gain because they aren't capable of managing it themselves if BlizzCon has been any indication they can't even run a stream properly.
