Intense SC2 Campaign Story (Imaginary)

Post by New-/Hydrolisk »

I want to make a campaign about a Hydralisk-cerebrate that leads a Zerg revolution. The Hydralisk creates the Fascist Zerg Brood, a force that eventually becomes a Zerg Empire that contests directly with the Terrans, Protoss, and other Zerg for a place in the Koprulu sector. Then, in an effort to unify the Zerg, the Hydralisk assassinates Kerrigan in a daring raid into the heart of Terran space, assumes control of the entirety of the Zerg race. Following this, the Hydralisk drives Terrans to near extinction. However, the Protoss intervene and save the Terran survivors. The Terrans reorganize into a communistic mega-state and devote all its efforts to supporting a massive war machine, while the Protoss warriors fight off the might of the New Fascist Swarm.

The Terrans eventually construct a powerful AI that aids in commanding the largely robotic armies of the Terrans. As the Terrans recover through their advanced technology, the Protoss are driven back by the Hydralisk's Fascist Swarm. At last, the Zerg and Terran armies meet on the battlefield. Incredibly, the robotic armies of the Terrans will be matching the Zerg for numbers thanks to the united effort of the Terrans and the AI. Over the course of the battle, the Terran's superior firepower and new-found rate of machine recruitment outmatches that of the Fascist Zerg. The Hydralisk, realizing the danger of this situation, starts retreating his forces while trying to apply his powerful psionic forces to disrupt the machines.

Suddenly, the Terran super-AI malfunctions due to the massive amount of psionic energy being applied by the Hydralisk, and rejects all organic life, considering it all to be an enemy. Immediately, all Terran life-support systems connected to the AI are stopped and the robot armies are commandeered for the new purpose of annihilating all life; the Zerg, Protoss, and the Terrans.

In the midst of this chaos, the Ulrezaj attacks with his heretical Protoss followers, zealous as the most insane of priests and followers, who have infiltrated the Protoss bureaucracy. A massive coup d'eta ensues and a schism within the Protoss ranks form. The High and Dark Templar rally together with more trust in each other against the heretics, realizing that an enemy could wield the powers of both dark and light.

At this point, the New Fascist Zerg Swarm led by the Hydralisk-cerebrate are retreating. The super-AI and its robot armies are slaughtering all, but their victims are primarily Protoss and Terran. The Protoss are undergoing another civil war, as the forces of Ulrezaj conflict with the loyalists of the Protoss civilization. The communist Terrans are trying to save themselves from utter extinction, fleeing from everything.

As the years pass, the battles in the Koprulu sector devolve into brutal, guerrilla warfare. The main factions are the New Fascist Zerg Swarm (NFZS), the Loyalist Protoss, Ulrezaj's cult, and the super-AI, which has named itself the AL-Factor (ALF), or Answer to Life Factor. All that is left of the communist Terrans is the AL-Factor; all of the Terrans have gone into hiding, but know one knows for sure where the Terrans have hidden themselves.

The NFZS is attempting to attack only the Loyalist Protoss and Ulrezaj's cult in hopes of assimilating the Protoss in order to fight the ALF robot armies, which prove to be a deadly and merciless force hellbent on the eradication of all life in the sector. Meanwhile, the Loyalist Protoss are slowly losing morale, and Ulrezaj's psionic influence over the Protoss populations is causing widespread fear and panic. Slowly, deserters of the Loyalist Protoss forces appear and are recruited by Ulrezaj, while other Protoss are bought by promises for power. Slowly, the Loyalist Protoss are being cornered by the NFZS, Ulrezaj, and the ALF, while Ulrezaj's extreme psionic influence dissuades ALF harassment. However, the cult still must deal with the Zerg and loyalists. The Swarm is successfully holding off the ALF through guerrilla tactics, while attacking both Protoss factions.

The years pass, and the situation is dire for the Loyalists. They seek to escape from the Koprulu sector. Ulrezaj's cult is profiting greatly from the war, while the NFZS has acquired much Protoss genetic material over the years, and are preparing to create psionically capable Zerg minions en masse. The ALF has become a massive superpower, however, as its machine efficiency has led to a great age. It prepares to lay waste once and for all the life that infects the sector - the ALF armies are assembled and are moving in to crush the Zerg and Protoss.

The Loyalists at this point are about to embark upon a mass exodus. As they are about to leave, they are hailed by strange frequencies, and they are contacted by the communist Terrans which have returned once more to the Koprulu sector in order to wage holy war against the NFZS, ALF, and Ulrezaj and his heretics. The Loyalists are surprised, but agree to help the returning Terrans. To their surprise, the Terrans have recovered completely through the use of cloning and gene therapy; their armies are now composed completely of elite, cloned Ghosts, seeking revenge upon the ALF, Ulrezaj, and the Zerg. They had sworn to use only human power now instead of AIs to wage war.

The Terrans and Loyalist Protoss reverse the tables and return for a holy crusade against the enemies of the righteous, just as the New Fascist Zerg Swarm, Ulrezaj's cult, and the Answer to Life Factor robot armies converge upon the Loyalists' original point of exodus. The NFZS had planned to consume the Loyalists, Ulrezaj sought to eliminate the remaining Loyalists, and the ALF came to extinguish all factions. Thanks to the incredible psionic emanations coming from the Terrans, Loyalists, Ulrezaj, and the Hydralisk and his improved Zerg Swarm, the ALF is not as efficient as usual, hampering its fighting capability just enough to that the incredibly massive armies of the ALF do not immediately wipe out the other factions.

The NFZS and Ulrezaj's cult fight while the crusading Terrans and Loyalists arrive.

In the battle, Ulrezaj and the Hydralisk leader fight in a duel, both having incredible psionic potential. However, the Hydralisk is slowly giving ground. The crusaders, seeing the Hydralisk almost match the incredibly powerful Ulrezaj, are moved in their hearts, enough so that they help to kill Ulrezaj. The Hydralisk barely escapes by way of a Nydus Worm, and the Zerg begin pulling away from the war. The crusaders turn their attention to the remainders of Ulrezaj's legacy. The cult fights maniacally, distraught by the death of their leader by inspired to become martyrs for the sake of their dead master. The cult is sandwiched by the ALF who begin to arrive on the scene, dulled by the incredible psionic charge upon the battlefield. Quickly, the cult is exterminated. At this point, the Zerg are pulling back, and the Terrans and Loyalists begin to fight the ALF.

The ALF is quickly recovering from the psionic emanations, however, and bring to bear anti-psionic fields to protect its armies from disruption. The crusaders are slowly but surely losing the battle, mowed away by the unstoppable tides of machine soldiers. However, in a saving grace, the Zerg turn around and flank the ALF, and the combined psionic might of the Terrans, Protoss, and Zerg is able to disrupt the ALF once again. As it falls into disarray, the three forces combined crush the ALF armies. As the ALF is dropped to scattered groups of robots, the Zerg once more turn back. The Hydralisk-cerebrate then psionically transmits one last message to all upon the battlefield, that he only ever wished to set free the Zerg. With that, he disappears along with the rest of the New Facist Zerg Swarm.

The crusading Terrans and Loyalist Protoss rejoice as the last of the ALF are crushed and the cult of Ulrezaj routed out.

The crusaders enjoy their victory within the Koprulu, and an age of prosperity between the Protoss and Terran begins.

The New Facist Zerg Swarm are never seen again.

What with all the other random political stuff, I keep reading ALF as Animal Liberation Front.

Also why doesn't the computer just leave if it hates people so much wtf does it want with the koprulu sector that place sucks yo.

EDIT: Actually same thing with the zerg, if the hydralisk guy wanted to be free he coulda just packed up and left...which he ends up doing anyway.

There is such thing as an Animal Liberation Front???? lol I guess I should use "AL-F" then.

The AI sticks around because it has designated all organisms as enemies.

The Hydralisk-cerebrate sticks around because he has to deal with the AL-F. Otherwise, the Zerg will have a constant cloud of death-machines trying to kill them. The Hydralisk-cerebrate decided that the Terrans and Protoss would be willing to drop the war against the Zerg if the Zerg retreated since the crusaders helped him defeat Ulrezaj. He returned the favour by flanking the AL-F, so he considers the Zerg absolved and retreats after the final battle.

lolololol I had the exact same thought. I have no idea. All I know is that originally, I wanted to call them the Nazi Zerg Swarm.

I revised the story.

In an effort to unify the Zerg, the Hydralisk assassinates Kerrigan during a daring raid into the heart of Terran space. He assumes control of the entirety of the Zerg Swarm. Following this, the Hydralisk drives Terrans to species-wide endangerment. However, the Protoss intervene and save the Terran survivors.

The Terrans reorganize into a communistic mega-state. It devotes all of its efforts to supporting a massive war machine, while the Protoss warriors fight off the might of the New Fascist Zerg Swarm.

Later, the Terrans construct a powerful AI that aids in commanding the largely robotic armies of the Terrans. As the Terrans recover through their advanced technology, the Hydralisk's Fascist Swarm drive back the Protoss.

At last, the Zerg and Terran armies meet on the battlefield. Incredibly, the robotic armies of the Terrans match the Zerg for numbers thanks to the united effort of the Terrans and their AI. Over the course of the battle, the Terrans' superior firepower and massive manufacturing infrastructure outmatches that of the Fascist Zerg. The Hydralisk-cerebrate, realizing the peril of this situation, starts retreating while trying to apply his powerful psionic forces to disrupt the machines.

Suddenly, the Terran super-AI malfunctions due to the massive amount of psionic energy being applied by the Hydralisk. It rejects all organic life, considering all lifeforms to be its enemies. Immediately, all Terran life-support systems connected to the AI are stopped and the robot armies are commandeered for the new purpose of annihilating all life. It begins to slaughter the Zerg, Protoss, and its former Terran masters.

In the midst of this chaos, Ulrezaj attacks with his heretical Protoss followers, who are as zealous as the most insane of priests and followers. Having already infiltrated the Protoss bureaucracy, the cult initiates a massive coup d'éta; a schism within the Protoss ranks occurs. The High and Dark Templar realize that their powers must be fused to defend themselves sufficiently. They rally together with more trust in each other than ever before against the heretics, who wield both light and dark powers recklessly.

At this point, the New Fascist Zerg Swarm, led by the Hydralisk-cerebrate, are retreating. The super-AI and its robot armies are slaughtering all, but their victims are primarily Protoss and Terran. The Protoss are undergoing another civil war, as the forces of Ulrezaj  engage the loyalists of the Protoss civilization. The communist Terrans are trying to save themselves from utter extinction, fleeing from the sector.

As the years pass, the all-out battles in the Koprulu sector devolve into brutal, guerrilla-style skirmishes. The main factions now are the New Fascist Zerg Swarm (NFZS), the Loyalist Protoss, Ulrezaj's cult, and the super-AI, which has named itself the AL-Factor (AL-F), or Answer to Life Factor. All that is left of the communist Terrans is the AL-Factor; all of the Terrans have gone into hiding, but know one knows for sure where the Terrans have hidden themselves.

The years pass and the situation becomes for the loyalists. They seek to escape from the Koprulu sector. Ulrezaj's cult is profiting greatly from the war while the NFZS has acquired a stockpile of Protoss genetic material over the years. The Hydralisk-cerebrate is preparing to create psionically capable Zerg minions en masse. The AL-F has become a massive superpower; its machine efficiency has led to a great age. The Terrans and Loyalist Protoss reverse the odds and return for a holy crusade against the enemies of the righteous, as the New Fascist Zerg Swarm, Ulrezaj's cult, and the Answer to Life Factor robot armies converge upon the loyalists' refuge. The NFZS had planned to consume the loyalists, Ulrezaj sought to eliminate the remaining Loyalists, and the AL-F came to extinguish all factions. Thanks to the incredible psionic emanations coming from the Terrans, loyalists, Ulrezaj, and the Hydralisk-cerebrate and his improved Zerg Swarm, the AL-F is delayed and forced to bring to bear anti-psionic field generators.

The NFZS and Ulrezaj's cult fight as the crusading Terrans and loyalists arrive.

In the battle, Ulrezaj and the Hydralisk fight in a duel, both having incredible psionic potential. However, the Hydralisk is slowly giving ground. The crusaders, seeing the Hydralisk almost match the unbelievably powerful Ulrezaj, are moved in their hearts, enough so that they help to kill Ulrezaj. The Hydralisk barely escapes by way of a Nydus Worm, and the Zerg begin pulling away from the war. The crusaders turn their attention to the remainders of Ulrezaj's legacy. Quickly, the cult is elimnated. At this point, the Zerg are pulling back and the Terrans and Loyalists begin to fight the AL-F.

The ALF has alreqdy employed anti-psionic fields to protect its armies from disruption, though. The crusaders are slowly but surely losing the battle, mowed away by the unstoppable tides of machine soldiers. However, in a saving grace, the Zerg turn around and flank the AL-F. The combined psionic might of the Terrans, Protoss, and Zerg is able to disrupt the AL-F once again, despite the anti-psionic feilds. As it falls into disarray, the three forces combined crush the AL-F armies. As the AL-F is reduced to scattered groups of robots, the Zerg turb back once more. The Hydralisk-cerebrate psionically broadcasts one last message to all upon the battlefield: he only ever wished to set free the Zerg. With that, he disappears along with the rest of the New Facist Zerg Swarm.

The crusading Terrans and Loyalist Protoss rejoice as the last of the AL-F is crushed and the cult of Ulrezaj routed out.

The crusaders enjoy their victory within the Koprulu. An age of prosperity between the Protoss and Terran begins.

The New Facist Zerg Swarm are never seen again.

This is actually pretty good, you've got a nice concept going on there.

Although, I'm curious about something. Why does the Hydralisk have free will? None of the Zerg do... can this be explained, please?

I'm pretty much stealing from deadfast's "Bane" story; the Hydralisk-cerebrate has free will because Kerrigan was experimenting with merging Cerebrate strains with deadly, self-defense-capable Zerg strains, which produced Vatico, who has free will and can control other Zerg.
