People also play and lose, if the player above you loses 10 points and you lose 1 then you will still be ahead by 9.

Boring. Mesk is right.
I'm tired of not being fast enough, not having the right counters, not being able to do what I know I need to do.
I'm tired of losing games because my build order is not right.
Tired of only wining against noobs or with a 6 pool rush. It's become boring.

I'll wait for the single player campaign where I can go dead slow if needs be.
Where I can save and quit and go back and do it right. I'm just not a gamer.
I've said it before and it's still true, I know what to do but lack the skill to do it.
I won't quit but I won't play as many games.

How do I play against the computer so I can work on my build order?

Create a custom game then inside the custom, click the "Add AI" button to add one and start the game.

Note : The AI in the beta is very very horrible. Thus games vs AI are pretty much only good to test units/buildings around and to work on your build order.

Thanks guys.
After some trial and error I was able to get 3 AIs on twilight fortrest so I could see what my partner was doing and make a build order. I have Zerg down pretty well as it is my main race.
You are right. The very easy AI is really terrible. It attacks and defends with very small armies and never expands.
I'm learning terrain now, on Blistering Sands so I'm very slow. But that is good in a way as I give him enough time the big boys, one thor and one BC four marines and two tanks.
He breaks down my front door, then leaves. Takes out my gold expo and then leaves.
I made 10 Reapers jumped into his base and took him out.

Next week after the National Day of Prayer I'll try to take some of you guys on. But don't expect a good fight as I'm still very slow.

I had a wonderful National Day of Prayer. God is so good.
You guys were right when you said that my on board video might not be enough. I got a GeForce 250 and a new 500w PS and really see the difference.
I finally moved out of the 30s into the 20s in the copper league in 2v2. I'm going to switch back to 1v1 to get ready to play you guys.
I'm going to play all week end and try for a face off Monday. I have to play Zerg as that's all I really know.

Here is something new.
After Patch 11 if I try to exit SC II using the menu key it crashes my computer.
I have to go back to the desk top and close SC II that way.
Does anyone have that? Is there anything I can do?

Yep, heard of that bug a lot on TL. Looks like Blizzard's following their WoW ethics where they break more stuff than they fix in the patches. Pretty common issue. Nothing you can do about it I don't think.

Thanks Mesk. As long as I remember to go back to the desktop I'm OK.

Something is wrong with the matching/scoring system. The only way I can advance is with cheese.
Nine times out of ten when I do a 6 pool I win. And I get a bunch of points and go up in rank.
Nobody seems to be able to counter this even on the larger maps.
Even if I fail I've done so much damage that they can't recover and I go on to win.
Is it like this in the higher leagues? I'm only in the copper league but how am I to learn to play better?

It's like this in the higher leagues, too. Most people in the beta are terrible. You'll meet the odd guy who will destroy you in plat until you reach the upper tiers in ELO.

Well that sucks. I have no incentive to get out of the copper league. I have to wait for that one out of ten that can teach me.
And even if I move up it's still same-o-same-o.
Where can I go to learn?
I watch all the commentaries I can, but other than Crota who has tutorial Thursdays, the new ideas are few and far between.

No easy way to learn except to watch Day[9]'s commentaries. Those are the only ones I'd recommend to someone who wants to learn something about Starcraft 2 right now.

I've been up all night watching Day[9], barely able to keep my eyes open, going to bed but not before thanking you so much for the information on Day[9]. Just these few hours have made me a better Zerg player, a better SC II player. Thank you so much.
