BlizzHard. The next difficulty level for the Blizzard Campaigns 6yrs later

Post by bajadulce »

My first ever CC Thread!  :o

Back in 2003 I built a mod called BlizzHard.  The mod was built in a matter of several evenings and entailed rewriting the campaign town scripts for a more difficult challenge.  Oddly enough, Campaign Creations was listed as one of the 3 sites in the ingame credits and yet I never created a thread here.  ???  Anywho.. 6 years later, I am creating a thread because I really admire CCreations dedication to the Single Player experience and want to support the ppl that have been a part of my Scraft experience.  So maybe a few ppl might get some fun out of this who would otherwise not know of its existence.   It's not much, and to be honest I haven't actually tried it out myself.  ::)  So no idea how "hard" it actually is.

DOWNLOAD:
BlizzHard
*Works for any version SCraft.
*Might not be Vista Compatible?  Dunno. If so, I can update the Sempq.

The following is the actual ingame credits.txt copy/pasted as to give a little more details as to what this about:

How many times have you replayed the single player story?
Or, maybe you've never completed these campaigns because they just seemed too easy?
Ever wish the single player campaign had a higher difficulty setting?
...
Consider Blizzhard this next level!
...
With Blizzhard, nearly 60 individual Town scripts were updated for a new challenge!
...
While the memorable storyline, characters, dialogue, plot and maps remain the same, the computer will build and attack very differently, giving the same campaign a little more bite.
...
Do you have a favorite mission?
...
If so, revisit it today and see how it has changed!  Better yet, create a new character file and start from the beginning!

Note: RPG missions have not been affected.
(i.e.  missions that don't involve melee builds.)
...
Blizzhard currently only supports the Broodwar Expansion pack.
As of this writing we have begun work on the original Starcraft as well.
...
Thanks to the following starcraft sites
for their tutorials, programs, and help:
...
Camelot Systems
Campaign Creations
StarEdit.net

baja, this looks to be an interesting addition if one choses to play SC over again and simply finds the experience to dull and bland. Glad to see you give it more life, I'm sure it's been a great project so far and thanks for posting a thread of it here. If you don't mind- As I strive to rework the resource area, would you mind if I included this in there as well?
